The printer says "invalid data received". So there is communication, it is just not valid.

I had this same problem with my MacBook Pro Intel notebook running the latest Mac OS. I went to the OKI web site ( http://my.okidata.com/pp-C5200n.nsf/openingdrivermenu?OpenFrameSet ) and downloaded the OKI C5000 GDI Intel driver. I followed the install instructions to load the driver. Next, I went to system preferences and selected printers. Then I selected the + button under printers. My current printers showed up on the list. I then selected "More Printers" and the other drivers loaded on my Mac were listed. One option was OKI USB. I selected this option THEN I plugged my USB cable from the OKI into my Notebook. The computer recognized the printer. I hit Save and I proceeded to print my first document. FYI: I spent several hours trying to get this thing to work yesterday with the USB cable already plugged in. I don't know why it would not work. This worked for me. Good luck.

Just want to say that I've been trying since yesterday lunchtime to connect my Oki C5200 to my Mac OS X 10.5.8. After downloading three different drivers and nothing working, I phoned Oki in Slough and spoke to someone in the technical department. He said my printer was too old to work with the Mac and that's why no driver came up on the uk website. I said they had some listed on the oki.com website and he said the model numbers were different.
To cut a long story short - I found this solution on fixya, tried it, and it worked!
Thank you so much, pjbprime, the Oki guy had told me I'd have to buy a new laser printer and I've just spent a lot of money on new toners. Basically, he either didn't know what he was talking about - started going on about how postscript printer didn't work with apples - or he did and was lying to get me to fork out another £300.
Anyway, I'm off now to print some posters and leaflets for my inline hockey club - thanks so much.

My Dymo LabelWriter 310, SN 90794 worked fine on my old mac, before I bought a new iMac 3.4 GHz Intel Core i7 and upgraded to OX 10.9. What are you doing about this, Dymo, or are you simply trying har

Its the most common issues with upgrading devices, the incompatibility of software and hardware from the old to the new systems. Yes, they upgrade so you may need to buy the new compatible models.

Sims 3 will not run on a mac that isn't using an Intel based processor. You will have to upgrade from a Power-PC processor in order to use the latest version of sims.

Does any driver or software exist to use the RR-US430 Panasonic recorder directly with Macintosh through the usb cable?

Hi,
Hi,
It appears that the RR-US430 only has driver software that is designed to work under Windows Vista. There is no specific Mac software available on the Mac, are there any claims that the device will work directly connected to a Mac.
If you have an Intel Mac, and use Bootcamp, Parallels or VMWare Fusion, you could try installing Vista using one of those methods, then running the driver software from here to see if your RR-US-430 is recognized while running Vista on your Mac.
It's a longshot, but pretty much the only option you have if you really want to try using the recorder on a Mac.
Good Luck!

Will Virtual PC for mac v7 work with an new iMac (Mac OS X, Version 10.5.7)?

Basically, if your new iMac has the new Intel processor (or any Intel based processor Macs) your Virtual PC v7 will not work on it. It is designed for iMacs/Macs that are not Intel Based machines (that run on the Motorola processors like the G3, G4 lines, etc).
All Intel based iMacs/Macs are capable of running Windows using a Dual boot startup that is available at the Mac Store or online. Check the Apple website for instructions, they are always updating the software. :)

I have Home Design for Mac in 9.2 classic. New Mac running 10.4 can't run it. Upgradeable?

If Abracadata is out of business, as it looks like they are, then probably not. Your best bet is to purchase a different software package designed for Mac OS X.
The Macintosh Classic environment will NOT run on Intel based macs. I am assuming your new mac is Intel. I actually keep a couple older macs around at work to run legacy software that isn't supported anymore, or is too expensive to upgrade.
