I recently U/G from XP to Vista, on my ECS 845GV-M3, 2.4Gh Intel CPU, GEFORCE 7600GT 256Mb GPU, 2G RAM, Terrabyte of HD(spread over 3 IDE & 1 USB drives) Audigy sound card. It runs well for software and net etc, but its dying on video. CPU seems to stay at 100% most of the time (if it is idling on desktop just a few swishes of the mouse will max it out) is there any adjustments (besides obvious graphical changes) to let the CPU rest? Would upgrading to a 3Gh make much difference?

Sadly, the system requirements for Fifa 11 under Windows Vista/7 cite 2GB of RAM, therefore I don't see it working. According to the wikipedia article though, if you're running Windows XP, you'll only require 1GB RAM, if you really want to play it, this could be worth looking into.
Fifa 11 Recommended Requirements:
CPU with Dual core processor (Core duo 2 or better). Intel Core2Duo @ 2.4Ghz on Windows XP / Windows Vista / Windows 7.
1 Gigabyte of RAM (2 GB required for Windows Vista / Windows 7).
Compatible 3D accelerated 256 MB video card or equivalent (**must support Shader Model 3.0 or above). ATI RADEON HD 3870. NVIDIA GEFORCE 8800 GT
If your system does not support the above hardware requirements you cannot play this high graphics games & your get the E001 error.
well first of all vista is slow and ur system may be a bit to old for vista, but thats cause vista is stupid, see vista will do ten things to do one thing! make sense see vista is just a pretty version of xp, Your computer is fast but also you installing a horrible OS on it, just stick with XP man unless you really liked vista then just a newer computer will solve this, just stick to XP.
LOL ok 2 GB harddrive haha ur Operating System is at least 9 GBS lol maybe you meant 20 lol
GO TO WINDOWS 1ST FOR UPDATES, DOWNLOAD INSTRUCTIONS, REQUIRES YOU TO UNINSTALL, REBOOT, REINSTALL FROM REBOOT. PRINT DIRECTIONS FOR APPLICATION OR IF YOU HAVE ACCESS TO ANOTHER COMPUTER ITS EVEN BETTER.
as i think you will be knowing the minimum system requirement 4 windows vista it s 512 mb ram ..as i think ur s is less than that so you may be facing the hanging problem .. if so i suggest u 2 upgrade ur ram to minimum 512 .... r u install windows xp SP2.... if u have 512 mb ram then there may problem with operating system this may be due 2 d virus attack some files have became unstable ... so reinstall ur vista .... your problem will be solved...
the only way to improve graphics is to upgrade your graphics card and ensure that you have enough system memory and proccesor power to run the game as it should do.
If you have a 32MB or 64MB card then maybe you should go for atleast 128MB
