Question about LG Televison & Video

Open Question

I am having some display issues using my M2794DP as a monitor. I have it plugged into my computer via HDMI as strangely that's all my case supports and am having some issues with the resolution in Windows 7 and Backtrack 5. First off, in windows the display will be cut off on every resolution apart from 1680x1050 . And in Backtrack the screen is smaller and in the top left corner with the top and left edges cut off, also in backtrack there are some green lines. My computer doesn't have a graphics card and i am using integrated intel HD 3000 graphics (i5 2500K)

SOURCE: Resolution

You could check your DPI setting in the display, being a large monitor your DPI setting shoul be up around the 75 - 85 Hertz.
To access this
Control Panel --> Display --> Settings --> Advanced --> Monitor and then click the drop down box and see what the DPI is set to and keep trying the different options until it is clear.
Hope this helps.

SOURCE: extended monitor resolution issues with gma 950 inspiron 6400 e1505

I've ran into similar problems with monitors before. Turns out that some monitors need their own driver installed in order to work with the video card, and, ?guess what?, they don't come with them. I usually find them at the manufacturer's site or driverguide.com Hope this helps, if not get back to me with the make and model and I'll do some research.

SOURCE: Intel 82845G Graphics doesn't support 1680x1050

You also have to install the monitor drivers.
And yes, the drivers directly from Intel will not work. Dell has a perpritory video, and you have to use the Dell Intel drivers.

I've installed a few of these, and I know they will work.
But I had to go with a 1280x1040 setting. It does work, and will fill the entire screen.

Another option is to put in a PCI video card (yes, a full size card will fit in the GX260's) One bonus to that is you can do multiple monitors. I've had best luck in the GX260's using video cards with an ATI chipset.

Double check to see if your TV can support the resolution that your laptop is using. You can try reducing the resolution on your laptop to one supported by your TV.

If the laptop is configured to use the HDMI port as a second (in Windows 7, you can configure multi-monitor support in the display preferences) you will need to adjust the resolution for that monitor.

Failing that, try rebooting your laptop with the TV plugged in - I have found in some cases that this helps the system to propery detect a new display.

Connecting computer to Element flx-3211b via HDMI not working

I had the same issue with this TV in my hotel room. I set the FLX3211B TV up as an extension of my laptop, but had to change the refresh rate from the default 58p Hz to 60p Hz for the digital TV display. Once I did this, it came right up.

Channel display has moved to bottom of tv

No problem! Your Wii changed aspect and settings, like your computer adapts to 'unknown" monitor. Just unplug Wii, reset your TV set and you should be alright. Try to use identical signal cables for connecting "cable" and Wii. hope, you are not using RF connector to watch you cable! You will not be able to watch in HD! May be that's your only issue? connect both: box and Wii via 'component" or HDMI inputs. I can't account for Wii, I only repair those, not playing. But, as I recall, it has only "component" or "composite" outputs. Your "box" might have different ones. refer to your owners manuals, just in case!
good luck,
Alex.

I am attempting to connect my HP pavilion dv9000 to a HP 2310e monitor, but it doesn't recognize the monitor via the HDMI cable

You must make sure it's configured correctly: make sure the monitor is up and running (not in Sleep) , that the HDMI cable is firmly plugged in (use a new one to be sure), then right click on the desktop, click NVidia Control Panel, under Select a Task expand Display and click Run multiple display wizard . If the monitor isn't picked up then go to Set up multiple displays options and see if the monitor appears in the second setting (Select the displays...) - if it doesn't then click the MY Monitor is not shown in the list option and follow the procedure to force its detection.
If even that fails then the video driver is corrupted, you will have to uninstall it, download the latest one and reinstall it.

Why is the sound not working on my acer screen

How do you have the screen plugged in?
If via HDMI, audio should go to your screen, but you may need to output to speakers (that is, if your monitor does not have built-in speakers).
If indeed outputting via HDMI, make sure your computer KNOWS it's supposed to output audio through the HDMI port as well as the video.
Finally, you might just need to plug speakers/headphones into the monitor - most have an audio jack on the underside, by the stand.

Hello, I'm not sure about the system or monitor that you're using, but usually for Windows systems, you have to change the display within the system before the screen will actually show on the monitor through something other than the standard display port. If you reply with your OS, then I might be of more help, but assuming you have Windows 7, you must plug the hdmi cord in, right-click on the desktop, and select Screen Resolution. Then select the option (likely "HDMI") under Display that you are currently not using. At this point, your current screen will most likely go black. Switch you monitor to hdmi mode, and then you should be able to use your monitor via HDMI. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me, or simply comment.

This is a common problem with many LCD monitors. The
printed circuit board that provides a stable voltage for the monitor to operate
from starts to fail. The PCB can be replaced, when/if they are available, or repaired
in most cases at a much lower cost. for more information on this email me at
