There is memory in the camera in some models but it is very limited into what you can do.
A 1 gig SD card will give you 60 mins of video at a high quality resolution in most cases.

How do I use this camera?

That Jazz is a very simple pin hole camera. Basically point and shoot. It may or may not have internal memory. Most of them don't and if they do, it is really really low. Check along the edges for a card slot. If it has one chances are it's the most popular card, SD and chances are it won't be able to read anything higher than a 1-4 Gb SD card, so no point in purchasing SDHC cards.

If it has no card slot then it's an internal memory type and in those cases, it's barely good for a few dozen shots or so. Don't expect high quality. These aren't auto focus camera's. Their general range is 1.2 meters to infinity. Also the majority of the Jazz cameras only shoot 640x480 sized images so best for kids.

Notice no flash on this model means it can only do outdoors or indoor under really bright light like from a 100 watt bulb. A typical 60 watt bulb won't cut it as all pictures will be very yellow and dark.

Can i use my jazz dvx40 camera without the installation cd?

You can use the camera without the installation CD. The CD may contain some useful photo editing program and help you download the photos from the camera to your computer using the USB cable.

If your photos are stored on the memory card, then removethe memory card from the camera and insert it into an USB memory card reader.Connect this USB memory card reader and memory card into the USB port of yourworking computer. Your computer will see this as an USB Mass Storage Device oran external storage device; you can then open the folder on the memory card andcopy the photos to your computer.Memory card reader is a handy device and is inexpensive. Youcan copy photos from other cameras and you can also download photos off yourmemory card to someone else's computer without the need of installing anyprograms.

Sd card not recognizable

I read the following spec for your camera: Recording Media Internal Flash Memory 64MB Video/Image
SD/SDHC Up To 32GB Video/Image
So, I think that an 8 GB SD card should work.

Try another capacity and brand to make it work.

When I turn on my Jazz DV 152/ T20 it displays "Read card..." and then nothing happens...I have a 4GB SDHC card by SanDisk...both camera and card are new....is this a faulty camera or am I doing something...

Usually the first thing you need to do with any SD card and Camera is to go into the settings of the your camera and Format the SD card. This has to be done for each memory card you use with that camera. i.e. a SD card formatted on a Panasonic HD camcorder won't work in your Jazz Camcorder. The formatting is different between the two camcorders. New SD cards don't come formatted.
SO try inserting the SD card into your Jazz Cam and rummage through the setting until you find your memory settings. From there find the Format Memory Card function, format the SD Card and you should be good to go.

You can use an SD memory card for your camera.  There available at most stores.
Is the battery indicating that it is fully charged?
