Question about Toshiba TDP XP2 DLP Projector

Toshiba xp2 projector overheating

The fan is running, but overheat indicator button goes on after less than 15 minutes. The display also goes blank almost immediately, giving me no opportunity to shut down my programs.

I have gone in to the menu and increased the fan speed from Normal to High. This did extend the time the projector runs by about 30 minutes before shutting down.

I have heard that adjusting or replacing the heat sensor may solve the problem, but I don't know where it is located.

I have not been able to find a technical manual online, although I do have the owner's manual.

    Thanks in advance!

Better late than never for any other XP2 owners out there. I've gone through 1 lamp so far with very good results. The key to overheating is cleaning the fan out, i.e. it sucks in a lot of dust particles over time which accumulate on the fan blade and in the vents blocking good airflow. Take a good strong vacuum hose to every vent, then again right when you turn it on. This will get the fan up to speed quickly and assist with removing more dust internally. Eventually, you'll need to open the projector up and clean internally (carefully), but doing the above maintenance will prolong its life and extend the lamp too!

SOURCE: toshiba TDP SC25 projector

The manual says it might be because the power went out when it was on. Just a note here, as projectors age they become more sensitive to power outages. When not in use turn off completely if you can. They have an on/off button.

Otherwise not sure but think you may need to replace the fan. Try cleaning it first but gently.

SOURCE: I have a Toshiba TLP 260 Multimedia Projector

Hello,
If all the fans are running and you are sure, than it sounds like you have a bad main control board. Double check that all the fans are running. If so you will need to replace the main controller, this is the board that the fans are plugged into.

SOURCE: We have Toshiba TDP-T05 projector - recently

Hi,
Before going to by a new one just try to do the following

First of all try to reset the lamp hour of your projector. For resetting the lamp hour do the following.

Make sure the main power switch is OFF. Hold the "ON", "MENU", and "INPUT" buttons at the same time and turn the main power switch on. Keep them held until the yellow power standby light comes on,

Otherwise Check the lamp cooling fan of your projector. maybe its has some problem.Do one thing, Remove the fan from the projector. In the fan there will be a specification sticker. Remove the sicker. now u can see a hole in the center. its the bearing part of the fan. put one drop of oil in it. u can use any type of lubricating oil. rotate the fan leafs with finger for some time. after that re-stick the spec sticker. insert the fan in the projector. power ON the projecto and watch.
ok

I'm having a problem with my Actros mercedes truck V8 cylinder is overheating when you drive long distance what are the main courses

The thermostat may be stuck closed (should overheat in 10-15 minutes, maybe less if you are driving in hills or with heavy load).

Otherwise, your fan many not be working. The fan should definitely start before it overheats and it should be running when it is in an overheat condition. Fan is on the back side of radiator.

The cooling fan stop working on my Epson EMP 700 Multimedia Projector, can I get a replacement part and replace it myself?

The temperature indicator is red.
The projector is overheating, which turns the lamp off
automatically. Let the projector cool for a few minutes,
then turn it back on. Make sure nothing is blocking the
ventilation vents.
If the projector continues to overheat after you clean the air
filter, the problem may be caused by damage to the cooling
fan or internal circuits. Contact a qualified service person.
ยจ Warning: Do not attempt to service this product yourself except
as specifically explained in this User's Guide.

My Acer PH530 overheats and shuts down after 15 minutes.

Mine does the same. When it was still under warranty I kept sending it in to get it fixed, but Acer never fixed the problem (rather they caused more problems). I sent it in for repairs 4 or 5 times, but eventually the warranty expired (after they told me they would extend it from the dates of the repairs). I haven't found a solution. If you do please let me know. Anyway, I don't recommend this projector to anyone else. AND, I certainly don't recommend Acer's customer service. Their warranty is worthless.

Infocus IN1 Gaming Projector

Hi, I just bought the same projector Infocus IN1 and after just 15 minutes of use it turned off due to overheating. It seems that the lamp is very ineffecient and produces too much heat. The ambient temperature in the room is only 16 deg. celcius.

The solution I came up with is to have a standing fan blowing air directly on the back of the projector from less than a foot away. The standing fan which we usually use here in summer was enough to keep the projector cool. The infocus IN1 did not switch off for the next 2 hours (the entire length of the movie), until i turned it off myself. I am not sure how this system will fare in summer when the room temperature reaches 30 deg. celcius.
