How can I open the page

Locate your router. There should be a label which displays your default gateway. The Default gateway displays a number. It should show a number like
  • 192.168.0.1
  • 192.168.1.1
  • 10.0.0.1
Open your browser (Internet Explorer, Chrome, ETC..) Type the default gateway number into the search engine text box on top of the screen press enter or return (mac). The page should now show user name and password. Locate the router and locate the default credentials. For example. most routers requires the user name to be blank and the password is password. Routers very.

About obtaining an IP address. Routers are usually set to option the IP address automatically unless you manually set a static IP address which is not recommended.

Ip not accepting with pc

If your computer is not obtaining an ip from your wireless router, you need to first ensure the router has been setup / configured properly.

To do this you will need to use the network cable that came in the box with the router. Plug the cable directly into your computer then into the back of the router.

In most cases the login page for your router will be 192.168.1.1 (open this in a web browser)
Default username / password for most routers is admin / admin

Once inside your router click on the "Wireless" tab / section.

Change the wireless name to one you want (it can be anything but it's best to avoid spaces in wireless network names)
Then click the "Wireless Security" Tab and choose a password or your wireless access point. You will want to use WPA2 as the wireless security type, and your password needs to be between 8 and 63 characters long.
Avoid using WEP, or No password, as this will allow others to easily use your wireless service, and may result in extra data usage.

Please post your routers type / model if you need further assistance.

when you get inside you can see the all configuration that you want.

D-link DWL-900AP+ Wireless access point CAN'T SET PASSWORD help!!

192.168.0.50 is the default address for your router, if router was boxed and new, this should be the router IP.

The router configuration must be done using a cable connection, cannot be done using wireless.

If you want to reset the router you can hold pressed the pinhole reset switch until the unit will restart, about ten seconds, this will reset IP to 192.168.0.50 . If router is irresponsive after reset and ethernet cable is tested and fine , then the router may be faulty.
You can call the phone number listed on the router manual to get online assistance.

If the router was not new, but had been re-programmed , the default IP may have been changed manually by the user, in this case do the following to find out the IP.

Click start button
Locate and use Run command
In the Run box type CMD, this will open command prompt.
in command prompt type: ipconfig /all

THe router Ip will be listed as 'Default Gateway'...192.168.......

You can also find IP by rightclicking on network connection, in Windows and choosing Status. ClThen clicking Support tab, and finding the default gateway IP address.

Ip address for router for xbox live setup

If you have a computer hooked up to router, go to command prompt (Start - Run - cmd, then press enter), and type in ipconfig. The router's IP address will be the Default gateway address.

If no computer handy, most default router IP addresses are one of the following:
192.168.1.1
192.168.2.1
192.168.1.254

Network key

Hi gamejunky,
in order to get your WPA key on your router you will need to access your internal router configuration.  To do this you will need first your default gateway IP address, that is your IP address of your router.
If you are not sure what it is you will have to check your network settings, and under TCP/IP look for Default Gateway.
Once you have the IP enter it into your web browser address bar and hit enter.  You will then be prompted for a login to your router which should be default unless you set it.  The default is usually "default" or "admin" or "password" or some variation.
After this you should browse to your router security settings section and under WPA enter in a shared key.  Write it down somewhere safe, and you are done!
Hope this helps, and please take the time to vote!

Cannot log on to dwl2000ap

If the SSID changed to the default then you know that the router reset to the default settings and you should set your computer to automatically get its IP address via DHCP. I always set up my routers through a Wired connection first, just to setup the router and then go with the wireless. The default for the router should be 192.168.0.1 and subnet 255.255.255.0 . If the computer is set with a static IP address, change it to obtain an IP address automatically or the network card will not bother even looking for an address.

Ip address problem

Try statically assigning an IP address so that you can access the router, and make sure the DHCP service is enabled on it. Failing that, you can try resetting the default settings on the router.

It should have a small hole on the back of the router (near the power plug, I believe) with a button inside. Use a paperclip to hold that button down for 5 to 10 seconds, then reset the power to the router, and it should be back to it's defaults.

How To Make a DMZ

A router normally stops incoming Internet traffic from getting on your network, unless the traffic is in response to one of your computers or when using port forwarding. But instead of discarding the incoming traffic or using port forwarding, you can send incoming traffic to one computer on your network by establishing a "Default DMZ Server". (DMZ = humorous reference to "Demilitarized Zone".) This avoids you having to figure out what ports an Internet application wants ? by throwing all ports open for that computer. For regular network operation, NETGEAR recommends you do not use a DMZ. A computer with DMZ loses firewall protection, and is exposed to exploits from the Internet. If compromised, your own computer can attack the rest your network. Instead of DMZ, use port forwarding, as described in How is Port Forwarding Configured? However, the DMZ server feature is helpful: * When you have a problem connecting to an Internet service. Setting up a DMZ will determine whether a closed port is responsible for the problem. * With some online games and videoconferencing applications that are incompatible with NAT. Follow the procedure under your router model to create a DMZ To Create a DMZ for RP614, MR814, FVS318, FVM318, WGR614 1. Open a Web browser, and type the router's IP address (The router's default IP address is 192.168.0.1). Click Go. 2.
