Hp 1402 fatal error and MSI.scan

Hi Ihan,

You are facing terrible problem with that error message.. However we can try to fix it. There are few methods you can do..

Solution 1.

  1. Insert the product software CD into the CD-ROM drive on the computer.
  2. Right-click Start and then click Explore . Windows Explorer opens.
  3. Locate and select the CD-ROM drive that contains the product software CD.
  4. Locate and double-click the Setup and then the Scan folders to open them.
  5. Double-click Data1.cab or Scan.cab to open the contents of that file.
Extract, rename, and save the filesLocate the following files, right-click them, select Extract , and save them to the Windows Desktop. Leave Windows Explorer open after extracting the files.
  • F1922_TWUNK_16.EXE.096CD9AA_35CA_455C_ADCB_36EF6B7F7892After extracting this file to the Desktop, right-click it and rename it to TWUNK_16.EXE .
  • F1923_TWUNK_32.EXE.096CD9AA_35CA_455C_ADCB_36EF6B7F7892After extracting this file to the desktop, right-click it and rename it to TWUNK_32.EXE .
  • F1928_TWAIN.DLL.096CD9AA_35CA_455C_ADCB_36EF6B7F7892After extracting this file to the desktop, right-click it and rename it to TWAIN.DLL .
  • F1939_TWAIN_32.DLL.096CD9AA_35CA_455C_ADCB_36EF6B7F7892After extracting this file to the desktop, right-click it and rename it to TWAIN_32.DLL .
Then you have to copy these files to C:\windows\system32 folder ( this means overwrite the files ) and try to install the software. it should work.

Checking for Windows updates results in an error message (0x8024001D)

When running Windows Update, Express or Custom, displays an error message (0x8024001D) saying "The page can not be displayed" error occurs.

The resolve is to rename the SoftwareDistribution folder:

Stop the automatics Updates Service
Go to Start>Run and type in Services.msc
Click OK or press Enter
In the right pane of the services window, right-click on Automatic Updates and then select Stop.

Navigate to C:Windows (C:WINNT if using Windows 2000) folder, locate and rename the SoftwareDistribution folder to SDOLD

Restart the Automatic Updates Service by re-opening the Service window, Right-Click on Automatic Updates and then select Start

NOTE: Renaming the SoftwareDistrbution Folder removes your current update history listing.

Error1606

These are the fixes for that error that I am familiar with...The first one usually does it.

Click on “Start-Run, type “regedit” (without the quotes) Navigate to this registry path:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER --> Software --> Microsoft --> Windows --> Current Version --> Explorer --> User Shell Folders
Clear the key: Recent (right mouse click on the key/folder, choose “Delete”) Close the Registry Editor and restart the computer.

I am running Windows 7. When I try to install some programs I get the error message: 'ERROR: 1606 COULS NOT ACCESS NETWORK LOCATION %APPDATA%. Can anyone help me with this?

well, the problem could be that because that most programs are not compatible with windows 7 yet. the best thing that i would do is wait until 10/22/09 for the actual realease of the product and reinstall it.

Receiving "Error 1606: Could not access network location Startup"
To fix, Adobe seems to be having a conflict with Microsoft Office.
NO need to remove Microsoft Office (if you are having problems with install, upgrade or removal)!
Follow these steps:
1) Open Regedit, (Start -> Run -> (type in) regedit
2) Inside Regedit go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE -> SOFTWARE -> Microsoft -> Office
3) Right click on "10.0" folder and select "Export" (and save a copy to your desktop).
(You can do this for the other number folders (like 9.0, 11.0, 12.0) if you want to be sure).
4) Verify that the file(s) have been put on your desktop.
5) Next, delete the folder "10.0" (or the folders you exported) from with in the registry (right-click - delete, confirm)
6) Install, upgrade or remove Adobe Acrobat 8.0...when done...
7) Go to the desktop and click twice on the "10.0" file (and each of the other files) and add back to the registry!
8) You should verify that MS Office products still work, and Acrobat should work too! That's it!
