The drum mounts to a spindle on the back. On these units, it is common for the tripod mounts for this particular design to crack and break. On every call I have had for a terrible vibration on these models, this has been the problem. The remedy is to replace the front and rear tub, as well as the basket. It is also recommended that you replace the drain pump at the same time. Most of this should be covered under at least a parts warranty

Front Load Washer Vibration Level Legs

Washing machine is vibrating alot. machine is totally level but shakes the whole house

First off, the machine being perfectly level is really not that important (they are being used on boats). What is important is that all four legs need to be firmly on the floor (that can be adjusted). And the floor needs to be rigid. Put the machine in spin without any load. If it still shakes you could have bad bearings, or the spin basket could be broke. The back of the basket has three "arms" connected to a shaft which runs inside two bearings. One of those arms could be broke, in which case you probably can move the basket up and down manually. The basket has to be totally unmovable. Let me know if this helps.

What is the acuwash sensor

Washer temperature sensors and water level settings
The temperature of your washer's water varies with your laundry care needs. Standard washer models typically feature three temperature settings: Hot/Cold, Warm/Cold, and Cold/Cold—and higher-end models often offer as many as six or seven temperature settings. Temperature plays a key role in the effectiveness of your detergent—pairing the right detergent with the right setting for your fabrics and soil is important, as this will help reduce damage, prevent detergent residue, and provide the best wash across fabric types. For the best fabric care, look for washing machines with automatic temperature control (ATC). A sensor will control water temperature and ensure cold washes are above 60 degrees (F) to dissolve detergents, and warm washes do not exceed 93 degrees (F) to help prevent shrinking and bleeding.

The amount of water you use for each load also affects washer performance. Doing laundry is a bit like a science project. You need to make sure you are using the right volume of water, with the proper amount of detergent based on the dirt level of the laundry being cleaned. Too much of one component can result in a less-than-perfect outcome. Standard washing machines allow you to select water levels for different size loads, but some models offer more water-level options. Washers with automatic water levels use sensors to determine load size and adjust water level for best cleaning and rinsing performance. You will generally find these options in higher-priced top-loading washers. A benefit of front-loading washing machines is that most come with this automatic water-leveling feature.

Whirlpool® AccuWash™ temperature control sensor provides a temperature-controlled wash.

this is an article from the whirpool website, u can get a manual printed or downloaded by going to whirlpool.com and going to owners center and typing in ur model number.......

Spin vefy fast

A rapid spin cycle is actually a GOOD thing. This is an indication that the gearcase (transmission) and the drive motor are both running strong.

If the washer shudders during the spin cycle the first thing you need to do is check to ensure the washer is properly leveled. The following link explains:

http://www.fixya.com/support/r3868923-level_whirlpool_top_loading_washer

The model Whirlpool top loader you have, has an auto-leveler mechanism on the back two legs that can become unlevel periodicailly. You should check the washer level from time to time when it is empty. You need to also make sure the washer is level in ALL directions (front-to-back and side-to-side).

Accidental unbalance problems that can occur from washing blankets, comforters, or heavy loads of towels can also cause the washer to become unlevel and shake. This can also contribute to the level mechanism becoming unbalanced.

Overloading the washer can also cause unbalance problems. Washing blankets or conforters can cause the load weight to shift to one side of the tub. This will result in a tub that shakes violently and bangs against the cabinet. You may have to redistribute the load weight when washing heavy items. This can also occur when washing loads of towels. This is NORMAL as some heavy items do not distribute the weight evenly.

Another problem (which is less common) that can contribute to wash unbalance problems is a weak floor under the washer. If the floor flexes (even the slightest) during the spin cycle, it can cause the washer to bounce or shake. Mobile homes or laundry rooms on the second floor of a home are notorious for having weaker floor structures. This washer has a 35 gallon tub capacity. Coupled with the weight of a wet load and the spinning action, this can put a lot of centrifugal force on a floor.

If you have any questions or concerns, please post back and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

Can't keep washer level

as far as leveling goes once leveling legs have been set,you can lock them in place by turning the nut on leg itself counter clockwise until its secure to top of leg, however if the unit is shaking during spin cycle and is located in upper floor laundry setting, chances are the floor is weak, and cannot withstand downward force generated during final spin...add an absorption pad under unit to assist/alleive the issue

Whirlpool washer shaking and vibrating how do we get to springs and pads

To eliminate the vibration and the movement of your washer you need to align the four legs of your washer using level tools. Just put the level on the top of the four sides (front side, left side, right side and backside and then make necessary adjustment if needed on the 4 leg of the washer.
