How can I connect my LifeCam vx-3000 to my skype contacts please

Go Here; http://www.microsoft.com/hardware/downloads/default.mspx and download your drivers by searching the name of your webcam. Then install that software. When the instal is done, it will ask you to plug your Webcam in. It should then work. Then open up skype and choose Audio and Video Setup under tools or options. It will walk you through the steps in Skype to get it working.

I have the vx-3000. My contacts cannot see me using SKYPE. Is this lifecam compatible with SKYPE?

When using Skype let the skype software do all the work - do not preview your image by using the Lifecam software

Downloaded new version of skype and was using microsoft lifecam camera and now no picture is seen on other side by family. do i need to download the lifecam driver again

I saw this problem on the Logitech forum, so there is a known issue.
The guy resolved it by contacting Skype and going back to an earlier version of Skype until a patch is issued.

You can also check out the Microsoft Lifecam support, they have some information for chat programs

Test your webcam here by hitting "Allow" in top window and assessing your webcam in left hand panel.
If it works here, you know the hardware is OK. Now you have to configure it to any program you want to use it in

I am new to using a web cam. I purchased the VX6000 and everything is working, however, the people I talk to on it only see static pictures of me (Skype).

I think what they are seeing is the photo you took with your webcam when you set up your account.
Make sure your webcam is is working OK and then check your settings

  1. Start Skype.
  2. On the Tools menu, click Options.
  3. In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Audio Settings.
  4. Select your LifeCam device as the default microphone. For example, select Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000.
  5. In the navigation pane of the Skype Options window, click Video Settings.
  6. Select your LifeCam device as the default Webcam. For example, select Microsoft LifeCam VX-3000.
  7. Click Save.
  8. Test LifeCam by making a Skype test call.
