This is a very old laptop and XP running on this laptop would struggle, especially if this laptop has 256Mb of RAM or less.

OK if the drive is not encrypted then you can use an Ubuntu live CD (http://www.ubuntu.com/ to download it for free 700MB file and you need to burn it). Ubuntu is another operating system, but with the live CD you can use Ubuntu (without modifying your computer) to view the files. If you like Ubuntu you can install it too. If you do end up installing it, Ubuntu is a version of Linux and is much faster and more stable than Windows. You do not even need virus protection but there is free virus protection software available.

before installation PAUSE ur antivirus programme running then install it

go to your start baton and cleck.then go up your satings than go control panel and sleact add/remove program then open it and chose your problem ante vires of your pc then press remove option and sec instrection if your ante virus remove properly then restert your pc.
