Imageclass d1120 toner cartridge problem

The toner cartridge is acting like it's running out, but there is no error message saying that it's low. It will make one or two legible copies before producing an almost blank piece of paper. When I replaced the toner with a new cartridge, it kept giving me an error message saying to "set toner cartridge again" so I eventually put the old one back in. This all started when someone didn't know how to clear a paper jam and tried to continue making copies despite the jam. What should I do?

SOURCE: toner not set insert toner message

The problem is with the paper tray not the toner, believe it or not. Take all of the paper out of the tray and then reinsert the paper into the tray. It should then work fine.

SOURCE: Two error messages persist after replacing toner cartridge.

This kind of error indicates that your toner is not properly set or there is some paper jam. so please follow the instruction and open the panel and remove the toner and check for any kind of paper piece and than refit toner properly and close the panel and than check you will definatly able to resolve the problem ok

SOURCE: set paper again/toner again error message

I had this problems and did everything suggested on here. Installed firmware update (which just changed the error message - didn't get rid of it), removed paper, changed size, replaced paper, tried new cartridge. Nothing worked. Finally found a tiny piece of paper that must have been blocking the sensor. It was on the left side near where the power cable is. It was less than an inch square. Got it out with some tweezers and problem solved.

The device will not copy or scan. The display says check document but there isn't a document in the device

Try to reset the machine by unplugging the computer cable in the back of the D1120, wait about 30 seconds and plug in again. Should reset the system.
Sometimes when it keep saying jam, I remove the toner cartridge and then put back in. That works also to reset the system.
This is really a great machine with it's little querks, but for the most part, we get along pretty well..... hope this helps. :-)

Try opening the right door and re-closing it to reset.

Also, be sure that your "new" cartridge is really new and not a low quality refill.

There are two contact on the right wall off the printer cartridge chamber area. They can get pushed in causing the printer cartridge to not read correctly. Take a small Flathead screwdriver and bend them up so the cartridge ink level can be read.
