I have had my blackberry for a total of two weeks, and for some reason, when I am in the middle of a call, the phone will turn off. This results in the time clock coming up, it will spin for about two minutes, then the phone comes back on, and it will do a "search." This is very frustrating. Any idea why this is happening?

I just got my blacberry and it cuts me off and the little hour glass icon comes on

I've had my BB 1 year. It just started cutting off and on by itself. The hour glass comes on pretty frequently as if it's updating. I like my BB, but this is driving me crazy. Oh, it also, drops calls frequently too.

When you say cutting out, is it dropping phone calls or is the screen going black too soon?

Device cuts off. Due to whats called battery memory Device thinks battery is spent. does not realize that it has additional capacity. This is due to recharging before battery is fully discharged ie in the red zone. Solution. install a new battery. it worked never had the problem again.

Goto blackberrry.com and get the 4.5 software update for your phone.  The update pretty much replaces the software in the phone.  There are web improvements.  Email improvements.  You can finally record videos with the new update as well.
Once the software replaced with the new set.  See if that will get rid of the problem.

The phone just shuts off, which makes the call drop, then the screen will light up, the little time clock will start flashing and spinning around, and then the phone will come back on.

My blackberry curve 8300 eeps cutting of by itself and i have to take the battery out and put it back in in order for my phone to work again for like five minutes then it cuts off again.

You might want to check the battery life. Sounds like it's starting to get low or die out. With most the smart phones these days the battery is supposed to be good quality but the more they try to get perfect the more there are some that gets screwed up. That or you just charged you battery too much.

Mine done the same thing, the holder for the media card wasn't pushing hard enough for the phone to read the media card I put a dime on top of it and it works great so far! Hope this works for you.

Blackberry Curve 8330 call problems

well the phone is a really good phone, I would look at your provider.
on a regular day how long does your battery last? is it lasting less and less.
One of the nice things about the blackberry is you have the ability to reinstall the software if you need to.
so try what you can and if all else fails, do a reinstall of the software.
or download the desktop manager from blackberry.com and update your software.
maybe that will help.

good luck

This will typically happen when you need to clean your trackwheel.

I've done this, but it's a little scary - it looks pretty easy to break your trackwheel..

Blackberry Curve is resetting itself for no reason

Ok, you have a couple of things you can try...first, Try to wipe your handheld and see if that will solve the issue. Before doing this you will need to back all of your info up to the computer. If that doesnt take care of it then...second... Download the new software ( redownload the software if it is already current) to the phone through the blackberry desktop manager.
