If you're using a pioneer audio/video master unit like i am then all you have to do is ground the thicker long black ground wire to the light green small wire on the other side. As long as those two wires touch each other then itl play dvd's anytime.

ok my friend has a 1999 ford f150 and we took the radio out to put in a poineer deh-1600 and we bought the connectors but one of the connectors doesn't fit and there was for wires were free when i got done the wires was a solid black with a white stripe, a solid orange with a white stripe, and a solid blue and a solid orange cable left tell me what do those wires goes to
A word of caution here.If the wires are ,old, faded cut etc, please consider REPLACING them.
Replace ALL the wires with new ones as wires matter a lot in a car stereo .
