Sharp AR-156 will not copy

WIll not copy and says "L6" in the display

Still not fixed but at least I know what the problem is. It is the only thing plugged into that outlet.

L6-10 Code
New Laser Unit is Needed.. If you hold the Green start/copy button down for a second or so, you will see L6 flash then 10 (if it is 10?)

The only thing you can do is call a tech, they can try to clear it with simulation 14, which might keep it going for a day or two, You can try to turn it off and back on... that might clear it.
But it will come back soon enough.
The Polygon Motor is what spins the Mirrors which the Laser uses to write to the Drum.
In Short, machine will not work without it.

A tech can try to replace the Motor itself, (provided the boards arent bad) but usually it is cheaper and easier to replace the Laser Unit.

Usually that means the polygon motor isn't up to speed.
Try turning the copier off, wait 20 seconds, and turn the power back on.
Is there any other devices plugged into this electrical outlet?

To eliminate an L6 flashing error code, I was advised to reset my Sharp AR-M205 copier by pressing: "#", "Interupt", "Clear", "Interupt", "14", "Start Key" However, I cannot get the display to offer...

You press # * C * not # interups.
It is # * C * then enter 14.

My Sharp AR-M205 Copier has developed a problem. The code L6 is flashing up on the Display panel. Someone suggested I might be able to fix it by 'resetting' the machine. Can anyone advise how precisely to...

L6 is polygon motor lock (in the laser unit). To try and reset on the keypad press P * C * (pound star clear star) and enter sim 14 and press copy button. the machine should restart if down right. If the code comes back the LSU unit will need to be replaced. Should be done by a trained tech.

I have copyed this from a website form.

AR-M450U laser code L6-10

You are spot on Frank. 99.9% of the time, it has a failure in the Polygon Motor assembly in the LSU. Very common on high page count machines. This part will fix the issue straight away. You will hear the new laser speed up nicely on startup compared to the original, which usually sounds abit sluggish or slow.
