Because of some reason i have formated my lenovo 3000 N100 laptop through the lenovo system restore and recovery key. After formatting, i found that the system automatically partitioned the hard drive as C and stored all the program files in that. i could not make partition as D and E drive. so i am using now the system with C drive only and in that all programme files as well as application files are stored. So what my expectation is, i need to make partition as C, D and E drives as like in desktop system formatting and it can be stored all the programme files in C and other application in the desired drive like D or E. I am a new user of Laptop. please help me

Re: Have to make partition as C and D drive
Since you have used the recovery disc to restore the system, it will automatically create partitions on the system, in your case, just one major partition which is Drive C (C:). If you want to add partitions on your system, you can use partition editor software such as Norton Partition Magic 8.0 and Acronis Partition Manager. These software gets a portion of the main Partition (Unused / Free space) and creates a new one. You can create multiple partitions depending on the size of the Hard Drive on the system. These Software are not Free, if you want to use a free software for editing the parition, you can use Gparted (Found in : http://gparted.sourceforge.net/ ). Though Gpartedis free, it is harder to use compared to the first 2 software mentioned. If you want to use a user friendly sofware, I suggest that you use Acronis Partition Manager or Norton Partition Magic 8.0.

There is a way that you can format your Lenovo 3000 Y410's system easily. And indeed this may help you address the issue of your CD ROM. With Lenovo's laptops there is a One Key Recovery button that you can use in putting back your system to it's factory settings. This will reload your operating system as well *** all the drivers for your laptop.Follow the step by step procedure below:
Reminder: Make sure to create backup copy of all your important files the before starting the process. Doing this will wipe out all your files.
1. Turn off the computer. 2. Press the OKR button on your laptop (It's near your power button and it has an inverted arrow on the top of it), thiw will automatically turn your PC on. Your screen will display Windows Loading Files. 3. Then, you will be directed on a page that says Lenovo One Key Rescue System. 4. Choose One Key Recovery. 5. Afterwards choose Restore from initial backup. 6.Wait until the system is done restoring your system. Finally, once the process is done, reboot the system.
Your system will now be back on it's original settings. You can start using your CD ROM again, this should fix the issue.
Just bought Lenovo S10 and so unlucky that window crashed. So have to restore my Lenovo S10 to factory settings. Can’t really find how ot restore to factory settings in Lenovo S10 from the User Manual. So check from google, after many many search, finally found the solution. For Lenovo S10 to restore to factory settings follow the steps below:-
Turn off your Lenovo. (i mean shut down and make sure it’s power off)
Now press on the “One Key Recovery” key at the top of your Keyboard, your Lenovo S10 should boot up. Else hold down the “One Key Recovery” key until it boot up.
Now you may choose “Restore to factory settings” from the screen and proceed for the restoration. ** the restoration will first check if your windows files has been corrupted, if yes, then it will restore it to the original state and no restore is required. else it will continue with the restoration
That is because someone has either removed, formatted or overwritten the partition on which the recovery software was stored. You'll need to find CDs of the software you want, starting with the OS, and install that way.
Hi there, i would go to the Lenovo website and retrieve the sound drivers from the support/downloads page. you can find your sound drivers there. the formatting process has scrubbed the appropriate drivers. You will need your model number for this download.
