AV Receiver pioneer vsx D914 does not turn on

See now what happen to me just last night actually was I was listening to music and had the receiver turned up to about -55. all of a sudden, it showed me AMP ERROR and shut off all on it's own and would not turn on.... I later was snooping around my wiring and fount two wires were touching. I have had the receiver unplugged since the incedent last night and I am going to try to get it working when I get home from work.. I know that it is a beautiful sound system and its sound quality is just amazing. It's definately the best system I have owned and I really hope that leaving it off for 24 hours will reset it and make it work again. I don't really have the money to go out and buy a new one.. nor do I really want to... If you have any luck you can let me know! Thanks!

Pioneer VSX 915 powe off

Had a power surge last night and got the same problem. Unit wont power on and has a blinking blue light on standby button. I found the solution from the service manual for a similar model.

Hold down ENTER and ADVANCED SURROUND buttons.

This resets the DC overvoltage sensor and bingo the unit comes back to life again.

DVD movies do not play

A blue screen means the TV is not receiving a video signal. Check all connections, then try another player, cable, etc. Also, check DVD and TV AV settings.
