you have no power because your radio is not tuned to your antenna. You get a new radio and put junky coax and a decent antenna and you expect it to work right. Get 75 ft of rg-213 and you will see a change.

I have a Galaxy 99 and I just swapped companies and I now drive a Peterbilt 387. When I plugged my CB in it tripped the fuse. I replaced the fuse behind the glovebox and CB still doesn't work so I am...

The Galaxy DX959 radio requires 12volt DC power. There should be a plastic fuseholder in the power cable near the radio end. There are no fuses inside the radio.
Ascertain that the radio has been connected up with the positive and negative the correct way around before replacing the fuse. Do not bypass the fuseholder or use a fuse with a rating larger than the origianal fuse.

If you have connected the radio to 24volt truck power instead of 12volt power even once you will probably need to send the radio to a competent technician for repair or buy a new radio.

Have new dx959 doesnt get out very far talking 100yrds or so use rdking 56 mic mic works fine on old radio pc 78 and gets out fine also are 959 radios ok or junk has good reception

The DX959 has an output power setting knob. It's located next to the channel selector and is labeled RF Power. Turned counterclockwise will reduce output power. Turned clockwise will increase output power. Your switch is probably turned all the way counterclockwise resulting in low transmit volume.
Also, make sure the wiring for the RK59 is correct for the Galaxy. Even though it's a 4 pin plug, the pinouts may be different for the Uniden and Galaxy radios. Do a Google search for mic pinouts for your two radios to check.

Galaxy DX959 CB radio reception and broadcast

You Need to check and set you SWR on the antenna system. You may also have a bad coax or the ant studs ( mounting hardward ) for the antennas may be bad. It definally sounds like an ant/coax problem Good Luck
