The iPod Touch is the only device in Apple's line of
portable music devices with embedded networking capabilities. When you enable
WiFi on your iPod Touch, the device scans the area for available networks and
displays a list of results. From there you can connect your home network or
Wi-Fi and use the Internet to email, instant messaging, Web browsing and other
applications.

1. Touch the "Settings" icon on the home screen of
the iPod Touch.

2. Select "Wi-Fi" menu item.

3. Move the slider at the top of the window of the
"Off" to "On" position. The phone will scan for nearby
Wi-Fi networks.

4. Tap the name of the network you connect to your iPod
Touch.

5. Enter the password for the Wi-Fi network you selected
with the keyboard on the screen.

6. Tap "Done" to connect to Wi-Fi network using
the password you entered. When the Wi-Fi icon appears on the top screen of the
iPod Touch, you'll know the connection is successful.
you did not mention that with which input you are using your tv. may be the input's cable is some times not connecting (bad wire) which sometime connects sometime does not. you try with replacing the wire & see if the problem is corrected.
If it's not seeing wifi networks, more than likely, there is something wrong with the adapter. Try these steps:
1.) Look for a WIFI switch on the side or front of your laptop and make sure it is set to the ON position.
2.) Check Device Manager to make sure the driver is installed and working. If it's not, uninstall and reinstall.
3.) Go into Network Connections and make sure the Wireless Connection is set to Enable.
4.) If none of that works, perform a System Restore to a time when everything was working.
5.) If this doesn't work, you need a WIFI adapter replacement.
I hope this is helpful and thanks for using Fixya!

Make sure your wireless Internet connection is active and at full strength. Unplug the PS3's Ethernet cable if it is plugged into the system.

Turn on the Playstation 3 game console and select "Network Settings" under the "Settings" option in the main menu.

Select the "Internet Connection Settings" tab and select "Yes" when the system displays a new screen saying you will be disconnected from the Internet.

Select "Easy" on the next screen that asks what type of installation you want to use.

Select "Wireless" when it asks you what type of Internet connection you have.

Select "Scan" on the next screen. The system will search for all available Internet connections in the area.

Select your home Internet connection when the screen pops up displaying the available Internet options. Select your security settings and enter your encryption key. Save your settings.

Test the connection by selecting the "Test Connection" option. If the connection has been made, your network information will appear on the screen.

To configure your internet options, go to the DS menu (the first screen you seen after turning of the DS). Select the System Settins option (the wrench icon), then scroll across 'till you find the Internet choice. Select that and then Connection Settins. Choose Advanced Set Up then pick a connection. If all connections display Set Up Complete , pick one and select the Connection Test. If there is an previously used Wifi hub or router within range, one of these connections should connect. If not, it will give you an error code that will help identify the problem.
If all the connections say None, then choose one and select Search For An Access Point. If all the connections are taken but none work, select one then choose Clear Settings. Then choose the connection that now says None and search for an access point. The DS will show a list of available access points; one should be your's. Select in and enter the security key and that should sort it. If your router or wifi hub isn't on the list, move closer to it or check it's working properly
First of all you may want to decide to check out if the wifi connection is disabled or enabled. If you go to system settings, in the network area you should be able to see if the wifi card is enabled. If is not enabled you may want to right click on the wifi icon connection and click on enable. If this was the issue you know should be able to see and display all available networks in your area
you might have to open up
your network connections click start control panel network connections this may
vary depending on your operating system look for local area connection if you
see a red x or a yellow exclamation or question mark you will need to update or
install the driver or it could be firewalled make
sure your modem/routers settings are correct ie:password user name, firewall
settings to allow your internet to connect to your phone hope this helps
