Gigabyte H61M-DS2 slow on XP

Windows actually run slow because of a hidden part of your system, which is constantly being used by Windows. This part of your PC is called the "registry" and is the central database for Windows, which stores everything from your latest emails to your desktop wallpaper. It's one of the most important parts of Windows and can easily make your PC run slow. The more corrupt registry files your computer has, the more it struggles to read them. The files which makes it run slower and slower. To fix this, you simply need to use a reliable like am using Reginout since 2011. This is the program which actually work by scanning through the registry and fixing any bad files that are in there. Then allows Windows to read as many files as it wants, when it wants to.

You can find a User Manual here: http://www.asus.com/Notebooks_Ultrabooks/U56E/#support_Download_30 For a explanation on the Battery issue. It sound like it's charging? Laptop acts like CPU is overheating - after ~ 15 mins. computer slows to crawl, both fans start and never stop running.

sounds like the hdd is just loaded if all you have freei s 1 gb and that makes the cpu move slower no if 6 yrs aith out goop is fine not that.
1. I suggest backing up only important personal data and formating & reloading the original (prefered oem xp for example) or any upgraded os you have access to eith software or some computers have a recovery process on the hard drive ( hit f X to start recovery process) this will clean all the junk off & give you back your original speed only install what programs / data needed use a good antivirus such as avast and antispyware such as defender from windows

Computer running slow

Hello.
Usually when a computer get to that point, is time to save your info, format and reinstall the OS, it will be like getting a new computer.
I know this can be a real headache, most the time you have no way to recover some softwares already installed because you don't have the installer and even worse maybe you don't have the Operating System Installer.
However, some responsible vendors make a backup of your system and store it in a separate partition at the moment you buy the PC, it can be named System Backup or something like that.
If you have that file in your hard drive or DVD you can :
Go to - Start - All programs - Accesories - System Tools - Backup and try that posibility.

You can try anything like antispys, antivirus etc but i have never found a way to make a computer in that conditions get fast again, only a clean install will give you that.
I'm sorry.

Good luck.

It looks like you may have a boot sector virus. A boot sector virus is one that infects the first sector, i.e. the boot sector, of a floppy disk or hard drive. Boot sector viruses can also infect the MBR. All disks and hard drives are divided into small sectors. The first sector is called the boot sector and contains the Master Boot Record (MBR). The MBR contains the information concerning the location of partitions on the drive and reading of the bootable operating system partition.

When disinfecting a boot sector virus, the system should always be booted from a known clean system disk. On a DOS-based PC, a bootable system disk can be created on a clean system running the exact same version of DOS as the infected PC. From a DOS prompt, type:
    SYS C:\ A:\
and press enter. This will copy the system files from the local hard drive (C:\) to the floppy drive (A:\).
If the disk has not been formatted, the use of FORMAT /S will format the disk and transfer the necessary system files. On Windows 3.1x systems, the disk should be created as described above for DOS-based PC's. On Windows 95/98/NT systems, click Start | Settings | Control Panel | Add/Remove Programs and choose the Startup Disk tab. Then click on "Create Disk". Windows 2000 users should insert the Windows 2000 CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, click Start | Run and type the name of the drive followed by bootdisk\makeboot a: and then click OK. For example:
    d:\bootdisk\makeboot a:
Follow the screen prompts to finish creating the bootable system disk. In all cases, after the creation of the bootable system disk, the disk should be write protected to avoid infection.

Once the OS loads, run your anti-virus software and it should clean the virus.

Should this not help, I'm afraid the only other alternative would be to reformat the HDD and reinstall XP again from a bootable disc.

Hope that helps..
