SOURCE: Laptop just shutting down every 5 mins or so --

Sounds like the CPU is overheating. Try cleaning with canned air. On the bottem of the laptop you can see a fan with laptop off and battery removed use a whole can of air to clean it. wait 5 min. replace battery and try normal start up. listen for the fan to come on if it doesn't the fan is bad and needs to be replaced
Hope this helps

SOURCE: Slow boot time for Windows XP Pro

Turn on your laptop and keep pressing F8 to get to the boot menu. Choose safe mode and let it boot up into safe mode.

After you get into safe mode click on the start button in the bottom left hand corner (or the vista logo). on the run line type in "msconfig" (without the ") and press enter.

It will bring up the system configuration utility, from there click on the startup tab and then click on disable all. Do that and this will make sure none of those programs are loading up when you boot up into windows.

Let the laptop reboot and if you can get into windows without any of theh crazy slowdown then you know its something in that startup tab thta is slowing down the computer, from there you can add back what you need and see if any of what you add back is slowing down the computer.

If you do this and the computer is still very slow in booting up then the windows system files are corrupted and then you would need to go into the system restore and set your laptop back to the last date when it was running properly.

If that fails, then you'll need to save your data and wipe out the driver and reinstall the OS and device drivers.

SOURCE: HP COMPAQ NX6110 LAPTOP HANGS WHEN BOOTING

It seems that the hard drive or the memory module is not seated properly and hence after pressing on the area below keyboard it gets released.
You can try following things.
Remove and reseat the Hard drive.
And remove and reseat the Memory.
Try to power on the laptop again.
If is getting hang again then you may need to do the HDD self test and memory test built into BIOS.

Slow booting and sudden switch off

The reason may be one or more problems acting together. The problem nowadays is that it is very difficult and time consuming to monitor and take care of your Lenovo laptop. Even experienced users find it hard to perform such tasks on regular basis because you might need to prepare a huge amount of time and energy to deal with each issue separately.

If you want to fix the problems more efficiently, try the Lenovo speed up program. Regards!

Post Boot Freeze

It freezes because one of the programs set to start at boot crashes. To identify which immediately after booting open Task Manager and look at the processes - one should reach 99% CPU use. Once you have found it stop it from launching at boot or just uninstall it.

My dell inspiron 1525 is very slow causes?

try to check running programs on the back ground, you could view that by going to the task manager.
exiting programs that you dont need will give you some spare virtual memory.
to access task manager:
press ctrl+alt+del then press task manager,

also check the loading programs upon booting the computer, check your startup and remove unnecessary programs that load upon startup.

set your computer to have the best performance

one more thing try to disable your anti virus to see if it is the cause of the slowing of performance.

If you're going to plug-in a video card you need to turn off the onboard video chip. Otherwise It sounds like a cold problem, you could heat areas of the motherboard with a hairdryer to find out..
