SOURCE: Unit not blowing. There is ice build up on the

If is not blowing ,the fan in the air handler is not working. It could be the capacitor or the fan motor itself, but if the fan works and you have ice in the air handler coil could be that the filter, is dirty, the coil is dirty or the unit is low in refrigerant.

SOURCE: panasonic air con unit is not blowing cold air out.

This unit is use in motels etc. Check the ouside coil ( conderser) from the inside (discharge fan ) for dirt. Most of these units are floor level . This can cause a unit to short cycle ( cold air is at the floor) .

My Honeywell thermostat isnt keeping my house cool even though the temp is set to 69. Currently 90 degrees in here

Its probably not the thermostat. The air conditioner may be stuck on heating mode. If its a reverse cycle, the reversing valve may be jammed so even when the thermostat is calling for cold air, it stays on heat. If the machine is on heating mode, it should be blowing cold air out of the outdoor unit of the air con. If its on cooling mode, the outdoor should be blowing hot air.

many reasons could be there, check that the outdoor fan working or not if yes my be the compressors is tripping, if no, check the volt for outdoor, check the gas and the leakage

Ac fan works but does not get cold

Hi there,
Check the air con drive belt is still OK.
Check to see if there is a slight change in the engine sound when the air con is switched on and off while idling - I'd get someone to do the switching while I listened under the hood.
If there's no change in sound (assuming whatever had to be switched on to enable air con to go, eg fan was operating) I'd check the fuse(s) for the air con.

If the fuse is ok, and you've already charged up the freon (not quite sure what you were saying there), I'd be taking it to an air con specialist.

3.0 D4D overheating

Check between the Air con condensor & radiator for grass etc... (restriction of air flow) if no restriction remove the thermostat & replace. If there is grass do not try to remove with water you will need to remove the radiator & pick it out bit by bit or use soft brush (dustpan brush) & compressed air or soft (not to hot) flame & burn to ash then blow with air. ALWAYS Blow from engine side & remove from other side so you don't force it further in. (This can take hours but is quite a common problem)

MY DOMETIC RUNS ALL DAY THEN IT BLOWS A BRAKER ONCE A DAY, WHATS THE PROBLEM ? BLOWS COLD AIR

Depending on how hot it is outside, there may not be a problem. It might just be running all day to try to keep up with the amount of heat that's outside. It'll blow a breaker most likely because it's drawing so many amps through the circuit breaker that it trips.

My carrier 38CKC (60) is blowing hot air. The fan seems to be running fine. Is it the condenser coil, or just needs freon? How do I know? The unit is about 8 years old and never been serviced (I know...I...

Assuming the outdoor unit is running, make sure the fan motor on top is turning and the compressor is running. They both must operate for the unit to function.

The easiest and most common problems:
1. Condenser coil is stopped up with dirt. The condenser coil is the radiator looking coil that wraps around nearly the whole outdoor unit. It can be washed out with water and a sprayer, just make sure you don't bend the aluminum fins and disconnect power before washing it out.
2. Low on refrigerant. If you don't have guages you can't check the refrigerant on your own. If the fan and compressor are running , feel the bigger copper line coming from the outdoor unit going into the furnace. It should be cold. If not you can either be low on refrigerant or the compressor valves are weak.

Hope this helps. If the unit is not running outside, repost and I will try to diagnose differently.

Our air con runs, on heat, and after a time cuts out, blows cold and makes a sort of hissing noise (but not a real hiss) and then shuts down. It then restarts after a couple of minutes. Is this normal?

Yes.Think of a heat pump as a A/C in reverce in cool indoor coil is cold&outdoor coil is hot.Naw indoor coil is hot &outdoor coil is cold&fan is pulling in cold air from outside.its going to iceup& go into defrost cycle. If your unit has a timed defrost every 30,60,or90min.(witch ever yours is set for)Defrost control board checks a sensor on cond.coil,if it is frozen unit goes into defost. You will here a swishing noise, iis the reversing of refrigerant.you will also notice the outdoor fan is not operating&at termanation of defrost fan will blow out steem.the other metod is on demand defrost.when coil freezes unit defrosts.
