Yamaha Clavinova CVP-85A digital piano. When you turn it on, it made real explosive loud sound coming out of the built-in speakers. But when you plug the headset, it bypass the speakers and everything works normal. I suspect the amplifier output is bad.

SOURCE: yamaha clavinova clp 200 - ear phone jack slid

The control panel hinges upwards and you have to move the keybed back a bit to get at the jack. All the screws on the bottom for the keybed. I'm not sure where the ones for the control panel are.

SOURCE: Can I replace the pedal unit to the Yamaha Clavinova CVP-75?

I can't solve the problem, but just wanted to sympathize because I have the same problem. My pedal is broken on my Yamaha Clavinova cvp85a. It worked wonderfully for years but finally it broke.
I'd be in the market for buying a new pedal or fixing the old one. But I've not found any suggestions in any of these forums for either solution.

HOW TO REPLACE CONTACT STRIP OF YAMAHA CLAVINOVA CVP 92 DIGITAL PIANO ?

Successful repair of my Yamaha Clavinova CLP 880

The principal to replace your contact strip will require one further step to that shown here where the customer has replaced the felts.

When you have the keybed out you will see the contact strip part 220. This is held in place behind the circuit boards. Remove boards, replace strip and reassemble.

It might be worth considering felts whilst you have the keyboard in bits as these wear out.

Yamaha Clavinova CLP-440

It sounds like you have a part overheating and failing, then cooling off and starting again. i would take it into the nearest Yamaha repair facility or contact your local authorized repair to come take a look before it goes out of warranty.

I have a clavinova that doesn't make sound

Try the headphone jack... if there is sound there, then it is either the speaker amplifier or a loose cable. It would be rare for BOTH speakers to fail completely.

Hi, I hope can help me with this problem because I start to get desperate. I have a Clavinova CVP-85A. The sustain effect is always activated, whether the pedals are plugged in or not. I read that to...

It sounds like the inputs from the pedal switches are "floating", that is, not pulled up or down and they are drifting across the logic threshold. If I could find a schematic I could direct you right to the problem. For now, check the voltage across the switch contacts with a high impedance meter. Also check the resistance to ground of the common of the contacts. Without a schematic I am afraid to have you try things lest I direct you to do something that would cause damage.

Yamaha clavinova kights coming but sound not coming

Has the sett been kept off power for some time. If so lett the power on for about 12 hours so that the circuits will breathe in the volatges. Sometimes happens when there is condensation and restricts circuit to perform.
If not also let the power on for sometime. plug the headphones and try if sound is heard if so the speaker connection can be faulty or the speakers.
Other wise the mother board must be checked. if the selected tones are changing, then the audio amplifier must be checked.
