posted by Chet on Aug 29, 2006

I am giving my phone to someone and want to erase the whole contact list. I have almost 300 entries, how can I erase them all at once? One at a time will take me forever..

For Nokia series 40 or 60 do this *#7370#, 12345 and then Yes. If you are using Motorola go to setting and choose master reset. This should clear all your information, as well as settings.

menu>settings>Initial setup> Masterclear

It should be at the bottom of the Inital setup panel.
This will clear your phone totaly like when you first got it.

Behind the battery on the back of the phone. Take the battery out and look for a small reset button. Use a pen or something that will fit in to push the button. It will reset the whole phone. This feature is on most all new phones.

If you want to delete all data including the contact lists and other contents from galary than you can do the hard resset of your handset by dialling the no *#7370# than it will ask a security code from you than you can give ther code as 12345 the default code of nokia or your pweronal security code ..make sure to take the backup of your data from your handset..,

Try these two codes to reset the phone to factory defaults:
*#7370# (soft reset to erase data)
*#7780# (hard reset to firmware defaults)

Do bear in mind that the default security code for these phones is 12345.

It would be good manners to set this back to the default if you have changed it.

you go menu, settings, security type in the four digit security code which is normally 0000,1234 or the last four digits of your number go to reset phone ,if it asks to reset phone go yes and it will come up with another message will reset to factory default go yess it will restart your phone to accept changes, another way you can do it is going to menu, contacts and going to your contacts list and just going edit but erase
