Question about Miele G880 Dishwasher
I have a miele dishwasher and I was running the regular cycle and the intake drain light came on. I turned off the dishwasher and took everything out and cleaned the basket, etc. I put everything back together and tried to run it again, it work for a few moments and then the light came on. The dishwasher is full of water in the bottom and not draining. We have tried plunging and draino. Nothing is working.
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

I have the same dishwasher and it will not INTAKE water. This unit does ****. So much for a "smart dishwasher".

Thx for all the tips. Combining your thoughts provided a solution for me.
I had the same problem (with a ***** of thanksgiving dishes to do). Turn on,
tries to drain, then that RED blinking "INTAKE/DRAIN" light, like you described.
Spent hours, checking/clearing the (grey) drain hose (The other white hose is the water input to the dishwasher). Also took out metal filter, impeller cover, poked a coat hanger in both ways to/from the drain hose connection. All seemed clear. But still the same.
But when I unhooked the grey drain hose from the air gap unit (that part going to the 4th hole in the sink surface), the dishwasher worked fine. So the air gap unit seemed plugged. The black hose from the garbage disposal to the air gap unit is free flowing (blew through it - yuch!). But the drain connection through the air gap unit was NOT as free flowing.
Replaced it with a new air gap unit ($5.00 at Home depot).
All works fine now. I feel I got lucky.
Well this worked for me. Sorry for all of you who spent big bucks with no solution on those service guys that tried but did not help. I hope this helps some of you.

sounds like the flood mode is in operation, you may have a leak into the base stopping the wash continuing. pump out the water, then tip the unit at about 45 degrees and see if any water pours out of the base- confirming a leak.

this is a general fault light which could mean anything without a Miele Technician coming out and connecting a laptop to the unit. However most common faults with dishwashers is a drain fault. Check for any kinked hoses and check the drain spigot under the sink where the drain hose connects into the u bend. Usually this is where food gets trapped due to the spigot not being drilled out large enough. This then causes a blockage.
Hope this helps.
