Question about Samsung HT-Z310T Theater System

2 Answers

Noisy Fan I am wondering where I could find a replacement fan for my samsung HT-Z310T home theater system. Its obviously offset and whirring like crazy. I opened it up and the fan and plug looks similar to your average computer case fan. Could I just replace it with a same size case fan if the plug fits? Or is there a site or place I could buy the exact same fan? Thanks for any help.

    Thanks for the reply.

Do you know if a similar size pc case fan will work? I have taken apart plenty of things in my day but I get lost when it comes to voltage and amps and stuff. I think I read once that running a 12v case fan on a 7v plug will just run the fan slower. Basically if all the stock fans are failing on people i dont want to replace mine with another stock fan that will just get noisy again. I wouldnt mind trying to find a better fan of the same size. Is there anyway that even plugging in a wrong fan could mess up the system or would it only mess up the fan?

There are lots of reports of noisy fans. The closest one I can find is to fit a HT-Q70T. It's part no: AH31-00039B. It's a "Motor-Fan C151BK10A2430".

I sent mine in and they replaced it free of charge. I never had to show a receipt or proof of purchase at all.

the cooling fan has ceased. Blow it out with canned air or replace the fan.
Check the voltage going to the fan, and oil the bearing under the sticker.

My Samsung HT-WZ410 home theatre keeps saying fan chk, then shouts down, this has never happened before

I've advice you to check your exhaust fan if working properly.
The processor shuts down the unit because it sense that you have a problem on the fan.
This is happen to avoid further damaged to your output I.C. which is quite expensive.
If the fan is not working then try to clean it, sometimes it is full of dust that caused to stop from functioning. If you confirmed that the fan is already defective then replaced it with a new one.
After replacing and the symptom is still there then I've advice you to look for a qualified technician because there might be sometime wrong on the board (faulty parts).

Pls rate my help.

What does FanChck mean on my samsung HT-Z320? How to I fix it?

I had the same problem with my Samsung HT-BD1250. In my case the fan did not run at any time! As a safety precaution, to prevent overheating, when the fan is malfunctioning the receiver powers off. I simply opened up the receiver and discovered that the fan was not even connected! I just plugged it in and.....Voila! Works like a charm. Be warned though that if your unit is still under warranty, opening it up will likely void the warranty.

Loud whirring noise from home theater receiver

Sounds like a cooling fan is worn out. If the warranty has expired, remove the cover and there should be a cooling fan. Remove the fan. Try cleaning it out with a can of compressed air. If this does not work take the fan to best buy or circuit city and buy a replacement. I hopet his solves your problem!

The Samsung HT-Z310T is a DVD player, not a recorder, that is why you are getting an error when inserting a blank disc
