Question about Polaroid Cameras

Open Question

I have an earthlink digital dsc pro, and it won't turn on, I just put brand new batteries in and it still doesn't work. And yes the batteries are in the right way, any ideas?

I picked the camera up for free, and put new batteris in, but it won't turn on and I was just wondering if this has happened with anyone else and what they might have done to fix it. Like I said it was a free camera so I don't want to bring it in anywhere if I don't have to. Again it is a Digital DSC Pro by earthlink. Thanks for any advice.

SOURCE: sony dsc h1 digital camera

Hello all! I am the one who took the pics of my class and then my wonderful camera stopped working. Before I sent $181 to Sony just to have them looka t the camera. The online helper suggested that I take the batteries out, press and hold the power button for about 30 seconds, let the camera sit for a few minutes without batteries, then place new "good" batteries in it. Well thats what I did and taadaa IT WORKED. I am so excited that I save $181 and my camera is working just as if it was brand new. I hope this solution helps someone!

Sony dsc-r1 won't turn on

I looked at the prongs in the bottom inside of the battery case (where the battery meets to give power to the camera), and it was actually crooked. I used a small screwdriver and straightened it out. Once I put the battery back in, the camera turned on! Probably am going to have to get it serviced, but in the mean time - it's working great!

My fuji finepix s5000 has lost power

see this causes and proceed . God bless you
If the camera won't turn on, check the batteries, or connect the camera to an AC adapter. If that doesn't work, remove all batteries, disconnect the AC adapter, wait a minute, reinsert batteries and reconnect the adapter.
If the flash doesn't work, the camera won't take pictures, or the screen keeps turning off, check that the batteries are strong.

Maybe the battery of your camera is wet. Try to quickly dry your camera's battery in sunlight and then put the whole camera ( excluding battery ) in sunlight. This may work as the moisture in your camera would dry out and chances are there that it may start working.

Sony Cybershot DSC-W180 won't turn on when plugged into computer.

Consider NOT connecting your camera to your computer.

The best way to download pictures from your camera to your computer involves removing the memory card from the camera and plugging it into a card reader (either built-in to the computer or connected via USB or FireWire). This is likely to be faster than connecting the camera to the computer, and won't run down your camera's batteries.

Once the card is plugged in, it will appear to your computer as a removable drive. You can use the operating system's drag&drop facility to copy pictures from the card to the computer's hard drive, the same way you copy any other files. Or you can use any photo cataloging program such as Picasa.

Things to check first for a camera that won't turn on, or works intermittently are the battery contact points, ensuring that they're clean, and making good contact with the battery. Troubleshooting tips on other things that need to be checked may be seen here. These tips won't work for every case, but they're worth a try.

My camera won't turn on...it is brand new

Brand new as in you just opened it out of the box? If thats the case you have to charge the re-chargeable battery first, then put it in the camera and it should work fine. Try giving the battery a charge first if you haven't already.

Olympus camera: battery empty

OK, here's the answer. You won't find it anywhere else, but here it is.

If you use rechargable batteries, you MUST use ones with a respectable capacity. 2000mah are probably not enough. You need 2400mah at least. Yes, it doesn't make much sense, in the the battery capacity is supposed to reflect how long they'll last. But the wimpy batteries just won't let this camera turn on.

I have some experience with different battery capacity in this camera, and it took some aggravation to figure this out. But I'm pretty sure this is the answer.

The higher capacity batteries are more expensive, and their hold time is probably not as good. But I get a reasonable amount of usage with them.
