P-62 error is DC program not valid. The printer cannot find the controller program or the validation checksum is corrupt. You can try to reseat the flash (memory simms) but it probably will not help. You need to re-download the program (microcode) to the machine and if it still fails replace the flash with pre-writen flash.
If you need a copy of the microcode and instructions on how to load let me know here (I will try to keep an eye on this post)
1. Press HOLD. Then enter the channel number where you want to store a frequency, then press FUNC and PGM. The channel number appears. 2. Use the number keys and to enter the frequency (including the decimal point) you want to store. 3. Press E to store the frequency into the channel. Notes: • If you entered an invalid frequency in Step 2, ERROR appears and the scanner beeps three times. Enter a valid frequency. • The scanner automatically rounds the entered number to the nearest valid frequency. For example, if you enter 151.473 (MHz), your scanner accepts it as 151.475.
Need the manual for your scanner? You can download/print it here:

Did you try reflashing this unit and then it came up with this error? If not you might need a reflash or a new CMX controller bd.

016-799 is a printer paper conflict error. All you have to do for the AS/400 to print, is to make suree that tray 2 in the printer is set up to do landscape printing. There has to be at least one tray for portrait, and one for landscape in order for the AS/400 to print.
The IBM 6400 printer uses internal programming software that is specific to the printer based on installed interfaces and graphics options. This software resides in flash memory and when the printer is first powered on the software is executed. During this process it initializes the various processors on the controller board, initializes the optional interface cards, and then loads the necessary operating settings into dram. If the programming software becomes corrupt it will fail during startup, giving you the DC Program not valid error or a number of other error messages. The solution to this is a reflash of the printer. Unfortunately, the flash software is proprietary to IBM and they will not distribute it to anybody. The only way to get the printer reflashed is by calling IBM and having one of their engineers reflash the printer.

I can get the P5010 printing on your AS400... But, there are to many things to check without knowing a little more about your environment.
If you can't ping the PTX P5010 from the AS400 or a PC, then you have a printer configuration problem. Take the printer offline and hit the Print Config button. and then the enter on OPs Panel. Then post top or first paragraph of the config. so I can look at...
__________________________________________________________ If you can ping the printer from the AS400... You will need to create a remote out que on AS400... command is crtoutq then hit F4...
if you can't post the printer config here... Fax it 972-233-7306, Attn: P5010, Toby
