I purchased a S34 Speedy Lock Serger by White at an auction. I would like to find a free manual for this machine.

You likelihood of finding spares is slim. A sewing machine engineer may have generic parts on hand. I did find a service manual. Also any major disassembly and you will need to re-do the timing, and that is a skilled job.

Unfortunately, the Elna Lock L1 manual is not available for free online. You can purchase a printed copy of the manual here: https://www.sewingpartsonline.com/instruction-book-elna-l1-serger.aspx .

Be sure that you are threading each thread in the correct order. The manual should have those instructions.

ALWAYS RAISE the presser foot when threading the machine!!!! For most machines, the upper looper is threaded first, the lower looper second (the lower looper thread finishes by draping OVER the top of the upper looper and then pulled toward the back of the machine), then thread the needles. Give each thread an extra little tug when threading the tension disk to make sure it is seated completely.

Even if you are unable to locate a tutorial for your particular machine, most models from the same era will thread the same.

Don't be surprised if it doesn't work the first, second, or even the third try. It took me most of a day to get mine threaded correctly the first time!!! Patience!

I found a free pdf manual for my 20 year old White serger at singerco.com. Hopefully you can find yours too.

I talked to custom service at White Sewing Company at 800-331-3164 and they directed me to a website to download the manual for free. Go to www.singerco.com and search for "wsl734" (white superlock 734). It probably has other manuals but I wouldn't have known what model number to search if she hadn't told me.
