Re: HP 950C - no red!
I use a clear silicone tube to carefully prime the carts by sucking a
dab of ink out of the tiny print holes before installation. I am
careful to have a tight seal at the holes to prevent getting too much
ink and possibly getting it in my mouth.

It could well be the printer head (the area where the cartridge locks into the printer) has gummed up contacts. Take a soft, lint-free cloth and wipe down gently wipe down the face of the contacts. Keep wiping until all residue is removed. Reinstall a color cartridge and then run the printer's software alignment utility (this is part of the software that comes with the printer).
hi im josh in cebu phils. friend may i help you? it happen try to shake the cartridge that doesn't print.and install it again and just remember this:
Problem: Your Color Printer Doesn't Print All Available Colors
This problem is most likely caused by an old ink cartridge. It's not unusual for some colors to get depleted before others, throwing off your color output. If you're seeing less blue (or red or yellow or black) than normal, chances are it's time to change your cartridge. so thats all good luck
I found this post to work for me when yellow was not printing on my HP PSC750 after using 2 cartridges: "Well if you want to damage your printer use alcohol. But if you want to
make it work then pull the cartridge from the printer and run hot water
on a couple of paper towels leaving alot of hot water in the towels.
Put some thing under them to keep them from staining your counter top
and then set the cartridge down onto the hotwater towel and let the hot
water melt away the dry ink and in minutes you may be printing again if
this is what it is. Be sure and use a dry paper towel to wipe off the
ecess wet before you reinstall the cartridge."
