Question about Rival 3755 5.5-Quart

Crock pot lost power

I was 5 hours into cooking a crock pot recipe calling for 7 hours total time when the electricity went out for 30 minutes. I didn't lift the lid of the crockpot during the time it was without power. Since the power has just come back on can I just restart the crockpot for the remaining 2 hours?

The crock holds heat even after being turned off...so your food was still cooking for the 30 min it was off!

Why do my roast potatoes take two hours to cook what am i doing wrong, cooking at190 degrees

I'm not really an expert in cooking and I've never roasted potatoes in some Crock Pot or Slow Cooker but for sure you need more then 190? (guess F?) to roast potatoes.

You should look up a receipe book for your device, like this one:

Just been given crock pot with 3 settings can you explain them no manual came with pot

It sure would help us to help you if you could get the model number off of the bottom of the unit. I can probably locate a user's manual with that information. Try this site to locate the manual: (my best guess without a model number)
http://safemanuals.com/314159.php?k=84c8d7db0922eceeab89e8e236b92e45&ID=2854106&q=CROCK%20POT%20SMART%20POT
(209k)
Find the little blue print that says enter security code and then you can dounload the manual.
The settings should be OFF High 4 High 6, Low 8 Low 10 and warm.

1. Place food in stoneware according to recipe.

2. Plug in Smart-Pot™ slow cooker. The Power light will begin to flash

indicating that the unit is plugged in, but not turned on.

HOW TO PROGRAM YOUR SMART-POT™ (CONT.)

3. Push the Cook Time button to scroll through the timed cooking

options. Push once and the 4 hour light will illuminate, twice and the

6 hour light will come on, etc. Select the time based on the length of

time indicated in the recipe. Two time options are usually given. The 4

and 6 hour settings are the HIGH temperature setting and may be

used when you want your food done quicker. The 8 and 10 hour

settings correspond to the LOW temperature setting and is used for all

day cooking. In addition your Smart-Pot™ can be set to the Warm

Setting by scrolling through the timed cooking options until the warm

light illuminates.

NOTE: The Warm setting is for keeping already hot food warm. Do not use

the warm setting to cook or reheat food.

4. When the cooking time is completed, the Smart-Pot™ slow cooker will

automatically shift to the Warm setting and the Warm light will come

on. NOTE: We do not recommend using the Warm setting for more

than 4 hours.

5. To turn the Smart-Pot™ off push the OFF button. Unplug unit from the

wall outlet.

6. For other recipes that give a range of times, select the time closest

to the setting on your Smart-Pot™. For instance a recipe calling for

cooking time of 7 to 9 hours on LOW, set your Smart-Pot™ to 8 hours.

NOTE: If power goes off then power light will blink and settings must be

reset. If cook time is changed before the cycle is complete the time will
reset to the new setting.

I need the user instructions for use

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly
I see I am nearly a month late in replying to your post. I just answered another post and when I finished I saw your question.
This is driectly from the user's manual that you can find here with some difficulty:
http://safemanuals.com/314159.php?k=84c8d7db0922eceeab89e8e236b92e45&ID=2854106&q=CROCK%20POT%20SMART%20POT
(Avoid answering questions by looking for the blue text that says "security code" and clicking that) Then enter the 4 digit code to download the manual that is 209k)

1. Place food in stoneware according to recipe.

2. Plug in Smart-Pot slow cooker. The Power light will begin to flash indicating that the unit is plugged in, but not turned on.

3. Push the Cook Time button to scroll through the timed cooking options. That is pretty much the entire user instructions. Everything else is warnings, cautions, and oh yes; don't submerge it in water yadda yadda....

Hi i have a hamilton beach crock pot that only has low, med, and high to cook with. i cannot find my book that has the times or what to put the crock pot on for port tenderlon and how many hours to cook...

Most recipes will have different times to cook meat, I would make good use of www.google.com and look at recipes and suggestions there. Generally speaking I would say you're going to cook that on low for about 4 hours, but it really does depend on the amount of meat you're cooking and your personal preference.

My Rival Crock Pot seems to cook a lot faster than it should. When the receipe calls for it to be on low, I put it in low but it seems to cook the food too quickly. What am I doing wrong?

Probably, nothing. About 6 years ago the standards on these were changed, to increase low to 200 degrees instead of 180, high to 300. Things that took 6 hours can now take 4. If you are using older recipes, or recipes perfected in older pots, they will always overcook. You can check this by putting water in, covering, and checking with an instant read thermometer after 1 hour. If it is 200, there is nothing wrong with you or the pot.

No manual for my old Crock Watcher by Proctor Silex

The auto setting cooks on high for the first hour, then adjusts the setting to low for the remaining cooking time.
Auto Shift allows the slow cooker to heat up to high and then internally shift down to low, so it gives more flexibility in cooking time. Example: A certain recipe may take 4 hours on high, 5-6 hours on Auto Shift and 7-8 hours on Low.

Searching for pasta sauce recipe

Barbara....I understand -- I panicked to day when I couldn't find my CROCK-POT recipe book for my Chicken Cacciatore recipe. I think I have that same recipe book -- my CROCK-POT is avocado green. Tthere are two recipes for spaghetti, but I'm assuming that you want the "Italian Meat Sauce" recipe. If not, let me know and I'll send the other one.

Crock Pot Italian Meat Sauce

1 cup chopped onions
1 – 1 ½ pounds ground chuck, browned
2 cloves garlic
1 large can tomatoes (28 oz)
1 6-oz can tomato paste
2 stalks celery with tops, chopped
2 teaspoons salt
3 teaspoons dried oregano
¼ teaspoon dried thyme
1 bay leaf
Put all ingredients in CROCK-POT. Stir thoroughly. Cover and cook on Low for 10 to 12 hours. (High: 3 to 5 hours).
