I have similiar issues with this problem
you might need to designate your transcend jf to one operating system
every time i swapped or tried using the drive on my xp then on my w7 machine got the message you drive needs to be scanned or formatted what do you want to do

click start click to open on my computer you should see your Usb drive E: right click select properties there will be an array of options select the sharing tab option then advanced sharing make sure you have a tick in the share this folder box then click permissions make sure all 3 boxes are ticked full control change and read in windows 7

click start control panel user accounts click on the administrators account if you have made one or you will have to create one in windows XP

click start right click on my computer select open
Right click the icon of your Usb Drive (It should be E:/ or something)
Click Properties in the menu that comes up
Click the Sharing tab
Click permissions
And finally, click Allow next to Full Control.

click start click on my computer to open you should see your drive
right click then select format

another way
click start control panel administration tools computer management disk management right

click on your usb drive select format
if you need more help with this post a reply

hope this helps you

THE TRANSCEND JF V30 /64GB PEN DRIVE NOT OPEN, WHEN WE INSERT THE PEN DRIVE WINDOW ASK FOR FORMATING EVERY TIME

The pen drive's formatting is corrupted. You must format it if you want to use it again. If the problem persists the drive is faulty and should not trusted to store valuable data.

Hello friends, i have one Transcend JF v30/2GB Pen Drive. But when i insert Pendrive then i can't access that. It show the error for fromat the drive. Then i go for do that. Then it display error...

Hi,
This might happen due to an error or corrupted MBR, which is the sector that allow you pen to be readable and the PC might not recognize the system file being used.
I would try to connect it to another PC with a different Operating system and format it from there.
alternative you can also use Transcend recovery tool. You can download from HERE
