Have you tried it without drivers, mac usually mount decent mp3s, or go to manufacturers website and download a driver(usually under "support"

I assume you have a laptop? otherwise look closely at the dvd drive and you will see it actually has a smaller circle in the middle to be able to take smaller dvds or cds , otherwise use an external drive or link up one desktop to the laptop using firewire and use one as the drive
