Question about Computers & Internet

1 Answer

Gateway M3419 Laptop, just shut down and now won't reboot. I have removed the battery to see if I would work with just the adapter but still not working. I then just used battery only, but again it will not work. The computer comes on... along with the fan and I can open the DVD player by pushing the button. Help!!!

Do you have a restore cd?, If so, put the disc in the drive and try rebooting from the disc. It may work and let you fix the problem

How do I reformat the harddrive if windows wont load?? I have a virus and everything froze, so I tried rebooting windows with a cd rom so i could wipe the hard drive, but i get a message that windows...

That sounds like you have a very nasty virus that has infected the memory.
Switch off, unplug and remove the battery.
Using just the AC adapter, place your OS disk in the drive and as the laptop gets to the BIOS option, press F2 or whichever F button lets you in to set your master boot device as DVD/CD Rom.
close the laptop down and remove the AC Adapter.
Plug the AC Adapter back in and boot the laptop, that should get you into the CD ROM disk for formatting and replacing your system. I hope you remember to download all of the required drivers.
Hope this help.

I have a gateway 450rog laptop and the problem is

Yes, it could be the battery is no longer working correctly. To isolate this, try to test your laptop.

1. Remove the battery
2. Connect the power adapter to the laptop and turn the laptop ON.

Once the laptop work without any problem, then it's the battery. You may need to check if the laptop is still under the warranty and have the manufacturer replace the battery.

Have a great day!
