Thanks a million yeeehaaa! This solution also works for televisions which are off and unable to be turned on via the power button. I have a sanyo on which the power button housing was pushed in making it next to impossible to use to the button. Using the directions given above I was able to use the remote to turn on the t.v. once again =). Thanks again! Hope this is helpful.

Rca remote rcr31w

If you need help programming your RCA RCR311W follow these steps.
1. Manually turn on the component you want the remote to control
3. Press and hold the component key (TV, VCR•DVD, SAT•CBL) you wishto program. The illuminated ON•OFF key turns on and remains on. If you release the component key at any time during the Direct Code Entry procedure, the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks four times, and the process is exited.
3. While holding down the component key, find the four-digit code that corresponds to your component's brand and use the number keys (0-9) on the keypad to enter it. While you are pressing the numbers, the illuminated ON•OFF key turns off.
4. After the fourth number is entered, the illuminated ON•OFF key turns on. At this time, release
the component key. If the illuminated ON•OFF key turns off, you have entered a valid code and have followed the correct procedure for Direct Code Entry.
If you enter a code number that is not in the Code Lists or you do not follow all of the steps for Direct Code Entry, the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks four times when the component key is released. This is an indication that a programming error has occurred. In that case, repeat the Direct Code Entry process from step 2.

I need help programing my rca universal remote to my vizio tv

Hello
I hereby send tou the general proceedings to synchronise a RCA remote to TVs:

[1] Manually turn on the component
you want the remote to control.

[2] Locate the enclosed Code Lists.

Find the list for the component you

wish to program. Find your

component's brand. You will see a

listing of four-digit codes for each

brand. If your brand isn't listed, use

one of the Code Search methods to
program the remote control.

[3] Press and hold the component key

(TV, VCR•DVD, SAT•CBL) you

wishto program. The illuminated

ON•OFF key turns on and

remains on. If you release the

component key at any time

during the Direct Code Entry

procedure, the illuminated

ON•OFF key blinks four times,
and the process is exited.

[4] While holding down the

component key, consult the Code

Lists for the four-digit code that

corresponds to your component's

brand and use the number keys

(0-9) on the keypad to enter it.

While you are pressing the

numbers, the illuminated
ON•OFF key turns off.

[5] After the fourth number is

entered, the illuminated ON•OFF

key turns on. At this time, release

the component key. If the

illuminated ON•OFF key turns

off, you have entered a valid code

and have followed the correct
procedure for Direct Code Entry

If you enter a code number that is not

in the Code Lists or you do not follow

all of the steps for Direct Code Entry,

the illuminated ON•OFF key blinks

four times when the component key

is released. This is an indication that

a programming error has occurred.

In that case, repeat the Direct Code
Entry process from step 3.
These are the proceedings with RCA RCR-311 remote control. Most of the RCA remotes will have this process itelsf. OK.

What am I doing wrong?!?!?! I just bought an RCA Universal Remote. I'm following the direction to program the remote. It says to press down on the component key and enter the code afteryou press the...

Manually turn on the TV.
Locate the TV Code list provided with the remote
Find your brand. It might have several numbers to choose from.

1. Press and hold the TV key. The Indicator Light blinks, then remains lit.
2. Use the Number keys to enter the first 3 digit code. If you enter it correctly, the TV indicator
Light will turn off. If it doesn't, then you entered an invalid number.
Note: If you enter an invalid code the LED will flash rapidly for 2 second. Start over at Step 1.
3. Aim the remote at your TV and press the ON-OFF key. If you've entered the correct code the
TV will turn off. If it doesn't, restart process at Step 1.

If you follow these carefully and it doesn't work, you might have a defective unit. Be sure the code numbers are correct.

How to program a rca rcr451 remote

1. Manually turn on the component
you want the remote to control
(TV, VCR, DVD, satellite receiver
or cable box).
2. Locate the enclosed Code Lists.
Find the list for the component
you wish to program. Find your
component’s brand. You will see a
listing of four-digit codes for each
brand. If your brand isn’t listed,
use the Manual Code Search
method to program the remote
control. (Refer to page 6 for
Manual Code Search method.)
3. Press and hold the component key
(TV, VCR, DVD, SAT·CBL) you
wish to program. The LED
indicator light turns on and remains
on. If you release the component
key any time during the Direct
Code Entry procedure, the LED
indicator light blinks four times,
and the process is exited.
4. While holding down the component
key, consult the Code Lists for the
four-digit code that corresponds to
your component’s brand and use the
number keys (0-9) on the keypad to
enter it. While you are pressing the
numbers, the LED indicator
light turns off.
5. After the fourth number is entered,
the LED indicator light turns on. At
this time, release the component key.
If the LED indicator light turns off,
you have entered a valid code and
have followed the correct procedure
for Direct Code Entry.
If you enter a code number that is
not in the Code Lists or you do not
follow all of the steps for Direct
Code Entry, the LED indicator light
blinks four times when the
component key is released. This is an
indication that a programming error
has occurred. In that case, repeat the
Direct Code Entry process from step
3 and try the next code listed.
Throughout the programming
of each key, be sure to keep the remote
pointed at the IR sensor of the
component you are currently
programming the remote to control.
6. To confirm that the component key
is programmed with the correct
code for maximum functionality,
test the component. Attempt to
control a variety of the
component’s functions with the
remote. If some of the features of
your components do not work, try
programming the remote with a
different code in the list until you
find the code that allows the
remote to control the majority of
your component’s functions.
Different codes can provide
different levels of functionality.

Need code for living solutions jumbo remote

The codes for a Phillips TV are: 003, 004, 006, 008, 062, 068, 069, 074, 075, 077, 086, 087, 089, 163, 183, 184, 205, 206, 207, 208, 212, & 213.

To program your remote by entering a code, follow these steps:

  1. Turn on your TV.
  2. Press and hold the CODE SEARCH button for at least 3 seconds until the red LED lights up and stays lit.
  3. Press the TV button on the remote so that the LED blinks once and then remains solid red.
  4. Enter the first set of 3-digit codes from the list. The LED will blink once every keypress. After the 3rd digit, the red LED will turn off indicating that the code was recognized for the device. If the code was not compatible, the LED will flash several times and you need to return to step 2 to try that code again or to try the next code in the list.
  5. After the LED has turned off, aim the remote at the TV and press ON/OFF. If the device turns off, you have used the correct code and the remote was successfully programed. If the device does not power off, return to step 2 and try again with the next code in the list.
I hope that helps.

Code list for universal remote control-name brand is living solutions

This is what the manual says: Prgoramming the remote using PowerScan: 1. Manually turn OFF the device you wish to program (TV, VCR, DVD) 2. Press and hold the apprpriate device key (TV, VCR, DVD) until the red LED illuminates. This indicates that the Remote is in Programming mode. 3. Press and release the power key. The LED flashes once and stays ON, indicating that the remote is in PowerScan mode. 4. Press either the CH+ or CH- key Button repeatedly until the device switches ON. The CH+ Button searches upward in the code list, while the CH- key searches downward. (So since I have a Toshiba tv, I elected to search upward to get to 'T' faster. 5. When the device turns on, press and release the OK Button to store the new code and exit. To exit without setting the code, press the GO BACK Button. NOTE: If you press CH+ or CH- again after the device turns on, the device will not be programmed; you will need to repeat Steps 1-5 again. 6. Press and other operable key (VOL+/VOL-). If the device responds, no further programming is required. If not, repeat Steps 1-5.
