It sounds like the solder connections from the port to the board are loose. The leads probably need to be resoldered to the board. You need to be fairly good at soldering to do this repair as the leads from the port are quite small.

How to charge it

Hi Stacey
How to charge "what model" Cell Phone

iPhone & others usually charge from the USB cable that it comes with.
Plug into any USB port (5v DC)
Some chargers supply more current which can give a faster charge. iPad chargers supply 2A where as iPhone chargers are 1A

I have a JVC KW-AV60BT, pandora loads & displays but no sound comes through

Just got this unit and had a similar issue, but mine was getting the iphone to play at all. On advice of the sales rep I bought the kit required to view movies with your iphone. The kit plug into the back of your radio using rca jacks and then utilizes the usb port. I can now use my iphone to play audio, movies and utilize i heart radio.

My powered USB port on my Dell Latitude D410 shorted out. Can this be repaired/replaced?

The USB plug will need to be removed from the computer, if luck is with you the computer will work, if no part is available, use a none powered USB hub on a spare port if available to run your applications.

How do I pair a RocketScience Tracer bluetooth?

    • 1How to Pair a Bluetooth Device With an iPhone On the iPhone, click on the "Settings" icon. It looks like a gear. Then press on the "General" button. Select "Bluetooth" and then "Turn Bluetooth On." The phone is now ready to be connected to the Bluetooth device.
    • 2 Connect the iPhone Bluetooth travel cable that comes with the iPhone-approved Bluetooth device into the USB 2.0 port on the computer. Do not plug it into the USB port on the keyboard.
    • 3 Connect the iPhone to the other end of the cable. The cable goes into the data connection slot on the bottom of the iPhone. There is another slot on the top of the cable into which the Bluetooth device should be plugged in.
    • 4 Wait while the computer loads to recognize there is something plugged into it. Either a screen will pop up or an icon will appear on the desktop to let you know that the computer is recognizing there is a iPhone plugged into it.
    • 5 Let the Bluetooth device charge with the iPhone for about one hour. You can tell when the device is fully charged by viewing the status light on the device. It will be an amber color until it charges completely. Once the charge completes, it will turn green.
    • 6 Remove the Bluetooth device and the iPhone from the cable that is plugged into the computer's USB port. Push the button on the top of the Bluetooth device. This allows the calls to now go through the Bluetooth device instead of straight to the iPhone.

Kensington power outlset beeping

the fit on the end of the battery adapter basically shorts and back fires and holds electricity in the battery making it unable to connect at the wall and flow again .... so you have to be able to Release the bent up or saved electricity the battery retained... by either plugging it in at the same time your finger can turn your computer on generating an instant flow.. this is very touchy area...but this morning after many times of doing it this above way i simply plugged my new iphone into the usb side socket to create a flow ( i have nothing that fits the adapters) and with the first plug from phone to usb port WALA xox I've been doing this off and on for 2 years since i first purchased it but it has never ever charged my battery ~ it's junk product but nothing else was available to purchase

IPhone won't connect to itunes

Try to uninstall your existing iTunes and reinstall the newest version. Then using the usb sync cable, plug it into the computer and the iphone and start iTunes. It should be able to detect that. Try to also plug it in a different usb port on that computer.

Hope this helps. Thank you for using FIxYa.

My usb ports stopped working shortly after i tried to download photos from my digitatl camera using a usb cable connection. I ran the trouble shooter and checked the root hubs and usb ports on device...

You can take it apart and test the voltages on the USB ports. If your motherboard has the little "helper" connectors that go between the cable connector and the board connector (the little plastic thing with pins that makes it easier to read and hook up the connections) something may have become jogged loose...other than that, something on the motherboard may have shorted out...it happens. Surprisingly USB errors on the motherboard are the most common failures I think (in my experience) I don't what it is about the electronics associated with them, but I have seen a few go bad.

USB port on Garmin Streetpilot I2

If the USB port is loose, that means that the port has come of the circuit board. This happened to a friend of mines, his son did not look which way to orient the usb plug and used brute force. It will need to go back to Garmin for repair unless you are or know of an excellent solderer as the conenctions are minute. The case needs a TORX 6 screwdriver.

USB Connection problem Optio S4

have you turned the camera ON after connecting the cables? Next, does this USB port on the computer work with other USB devices such as memory sticks? My O555 has a USB socket that feels really "fragile" and I fear I will damage the socket with improper insertion (alignment seems touchy). I bought an external USB card reader and am really happy with that. You don't use up battery power transferring your files. Much better solution, IMO.
