Take it to a professional to have it checked and have the dust cleaned out of it (ask for a price on the front end). MajorGeeks has some free utilities for keeping track of current temps inside the computer. Although I like MajorGeeks.com I always Google any free apps before downloading.

Please post back if it helps!

Fan error displace on my t42 ibm.I noticed the fan is working but the error do come once in a while thereby prevent the pc from working

If the fan is running but your notebook still overheats, your computer will turn itself off, and you need to wait until it cools down

The question is, why is it overheating? Try using a vacuum cleaner close to the ventilation slots to suck out any dust.

If this does not solve the problem, please get back to me

My monitor is power turn itself every 5 minutes, please advice me the solving methodl

Hello,

It's the problem of overheating in the power supply board of the TV.on the power supply board of the tv there are few capacitors and IC.any of this ic is got short or may be weak.so due to this when you start the TV the current passes from electric outlet to the power supply board of TV.but when the current passes from that weak/faulty part at that time current gets stopped or slow and the board overheats and TV shuts off. this is a common problem faced by many other users too.the possible option to solve this issue is to check the power supply board by a meter and continuity tester and replace the faulty component on the board which is short due to which power supply board is getting overheated.its bit technical job but yes its not at all a costly repair to do or get it done by the technician. for required parts it can be easily available from local electronic hardware shop. Take care in solving the problem.....

Turning off in 2 minutes automatically

My guess is that the fans inside the computer have stopped working, thus leading to the overheating. AMD processors generally run "hot" (50 to 60 degrees Celsius) even with proper fans.

Take your computer to a qualified technician, for a cleaning, and proper trouble-shooting, and repair, before the overheating causes permanent damage.

Computer would not boot up

Seems like you have an overheating problem. Try clean/grease the CPU fan and the heatsink under it.
(Do it without removing the heatsink itself, otherwise you'll have to put it again using thermal compound between it and the CPU itself!)
If that doesn't solve the heat issue, try replacing the whole heatsink/fan kit with a better one. Furthermore, a computer case with an "air-tunnel" always helps cooling up your computer.

Pc keeps turning itself off

I would suggest you first disconnect the computer and give it a good cleaning inside. It may just have so much dust inside that it is overheating. Here are detailed instructions on how to do it. http://www.directron.com/cleaning.html

Fan on laptop intermittent Avent 7110

That can be normal. Normally cpu fans start up only when cpu reach a determined temperature. After it cools down it stops until temperature reaches starting point again.
Generally, when the fan is not working properly, the computer turns itself off after a while because of overheating.
If you have this problem, laptop turning itself off because of overheating (check it is not hibernating etc.), then you usually solve it by replacing the laptop cooling fan.
Generally, 'fan on laptop intermittent' is not a symptom of malfunction.

Projector overheating and turns off after 20 mins

I have a HP VP6111 projector that works fine on a table top but overheats ( overheating ) when turned upside down and hung from my ceiling. My solution...I went to Circuit City and bought two 80mm computer fans. I also purchased a 12V power supply from Radio Shack. I put one fan on front of my projector and the other on the back of the projector and wired them into the 12V power supply. I mounted both fans with velcro. The front fan pushes air and the rear fan pulls air. The projector now runs fine without shutting off. The fans are 12V and push 34 cubic feet per minute of air. I am very happy with this solution.
