Unplugging and taking batteries out for 15 minutes should reset it back to factory.

SOURCE: CASIO CTK-800 turns on but no keys work

That doesn't sound good. It sounds as if the processor is locking up and that might only be fixed by replacing the main board. Sometimes this happens if a unit gets fried by static electricity.

But before giving up, I would open up the unit and check for loose cables and connectors internally. If there are chips (IC's) that are socketed on circuit boards, push them down firmly. Things may start working again.

Check that you don't have old batteries in the unit. Also that the auto power down is not activated.

If using a power adapter make sure it is the RIGHT one, both in polarity and current rating.

SOURCE: My WK- 3700 Casio keyboard is malfunctioning.

One portion of the key scanning matrix has gone bad. First thing is to clean the contacts with 99% isoprophyl alcohol. These USUALLY consist of traces on a circuit board that conductive rubber "pills" under silicone rubber domes are pressed down. Each note usually has two contacts, one closes before the other. This creates "velocity" measurement for the key. IF ONE of the contacts for a key doesn't work, the velocity can detect that the note has actuated, but no release occurs.

This would be on the "STROBE" line for either the first or second contact for THE OCTAVE you have problem with. There are disconnect diodes that prevent sneak paths.

You could have one bad diode, a crack in the circuit board, or a bad connection to the keyswitch board.

SOURCE: I have a Casio Privia PX-320. The left side keys

Check that the front of the keys is not hitting the lower plastic case front. If they hit it, then you need to disassemble the case partly and see what has shifted. It is ALSO possible that something has caaaused the aftertouch sensor to move out of position and it is hitting the keys early. ANY of these conditions needs to be addressed before damage is done.

What is causing noises in my Casio privia Digital piano?

Pivots worn out or need lubricant. Make a warranty claim first.Otherwise, If out of warranty I would try to lubricate the hammer pivots myself. You will need "grease suitable for plastics".

Sound stuttering

Hi, This and a lot of similar keyboards have gold flashed pads on the PCB and the keys press one or two rubber caps, with conductive pads in them, down.
Clean the pads with isopropanol, (and nothing else) and it will be cured 99% of the time. If a few notes do not work, especially after heavy use, then the rubber caps can be replaced.
Taking the keyboard apart is long winded because of the number of screws involved.
The job its self is simple enough, but take note of the order things go in and where the screws go.
Hope this helps, Chris.

"can I do it my self or should I go to a professional to get it repaired"?
Get it repaired by a professional. Casio gives long warranty (5 years in Australia). Mine took weeks for Casio Service to repair. Many boards had to be changed.

I have a priva PX-410R, when I turned it on today just one of the keys is playing at full volume like I was pressing the key really hard. The rest of the keys are playing normally. If I put it on say a...

Each key has two contacts. One closes first and then the other. This allows the processor to measure the key velocity which is then used to control volume. The key contacts are conductive rubber "pills" pressed onto circuit board traces. Clean them ONLY with 99% isoprophyl alcohol and Q tips. The disassembly of the unit to access these is NOT for the inexperienced so you might want to take it to a repir shop. Here is a service manual for a Casio 811 which is totally different packaging than yours, HOWEVER the keyboard itself will be similar and you will get an idea what is involved with getting into one of these things:

Scroll down to "get manual" and click to download... IGNORE other download links.
The keyboard exploded view is around page 32 in this manual.
