Your wash load may be unevenly distributed in the drum. To unlock the lid, try unplugging the machine & plugging it back in after a few minutes. Redistribute the clothes in the washer & try it again.

Was this a washer or dryer problem? The answer should probably work for both.

SOURCE: awg5122 not draining light over

Hi from retired Englishman in SW France,

I would gently suggest as a first step that you clean the drain motor/pump lint tray/filter. So many 'faults' are caused by blocked filters and many machines will not even go to spin or release the door lock if there is any water still left inside.
Here are my complete and general guidance notes for checking both the drain motor filter and the drain motor ;-0)
-------------------------------------

If you are unsure where the filter is, it is often behind the front lower (kick) panel (or in some machines at the rear in an awkward position!) and most are held in by a round cover/knob. Sometimes the filter will not come out with the cover and you will have to persuade it to come out to play!

REMOVE POWER AND ENSURE YOU HAVE A WATER RECEPTACLE/RAGS TO SOAK UP THE WATER WHICH IS BOUND TO POUR OUT!
It's surprising what people have found in theirs! It is always worthwhile checking it on a regular basis.
Now- whilst the filter is removed it is normally possible to see the drain motor and ensure it is not jammed by a foreign object such as a needle or a toothpick. It should be able to be turned by hand/finger- the power IS OFF!
At this point it is also possible to test if the motor works. No clothes or water in the machine, select a spin cycle and put the power back on. You should be able to see the motor turning at some point, possibly straight away. Using something suitable like a glove see if it is easy to briefly slow the motor down. If it is easy then the motor is malfunctioning!

If this has assisted you please consider a 4 thumbs up for the rating.
Thanks and good luck!
John C

Lg dryer check filter light wont stop blinking and the dryer wont work

You may have a clogged vent line.
Which will cause the check filter light to go on sometimes.
If the air is not getting out the vent and is blocked the sensor thinks the filter is clogged.
And you will not get heat either.
Check that the flexible vent line behind the dryer is not kinked or crushed.
A simple way to check if the vent line leading out from the dryer to the out side of the house is clogged is to remove the vent line from the rear of the dryer.
If the dryer gets hot when the vent line is removed, then the clog is between there and the outside vent door.
sometimes the little door outside the house gets stuck closed due to lint build up.
Or anything can be in the vent going into wall too.

3H error code on Maytag 2000 washer?

This mode is used to verify the behavior of the washer along the
operation of a normal cycle. It allows you to know the current status
of many switches, actuators, valves, and relays. It also reports the
current values of the drum speed, unbalance value, and power
used by the MCU.
You must have to call some service tech from the company for fix it.
God bless you

I have a fridgedaire front load dryer (Model AEQ6700FS0) and it will start up, run for about 30 seconds and then it stops tumbling and the 3 lights on the far right (drying, cooldown, extended tumble)...

This is just a guess in a way, as I don't have specific knowledge about your particular model, but could it be a wrinkle prevention feature? I know some dryers have a feature which will cycle the dryer on for an occasional short tumble if the regular cycle ends and the clothes have not been removed. Opening the door might be all it takes to cancel the function.

I have a Zanussi washer dryer which suddenly stopped tumble drying. It is showing code E10, which the manual says is blocked inlet hose. I don't think this can be right, as the wash cycle is working...

it could be the cold water solenoid not allowing much nedded water into the condensor unit... i would check both the hot and cold water feed if both ok and allowing free flow of water into the system have somebody check the poer to both the solenoids if they working ok and allowing water in then check the water pipe from the solenoid going to the condensor which should sit at the backof the machine if this is blocked ornot allowing water to the condenser unit for what ever reason than that could cause the error...i ope thiss is off help kv

Clothes dryer

washer dryer and dryer ony machines differ in a huge way. the big diff. is the drums on each are completly different sizes. the conventional dryer has the bigger, giving better air flow and tumble to clothes. the w/d has a smaller drum thus less air flow and less tumble between clothes. the best way to see this effect is remove half the clothes after a wash and then select a drying cycle. u will see that by giving the clothes more room to tumble free of each other rather than tumbling in a large ball will dry them. washer dryers are really only a marketing tool.

Tumble dryer getting too hot

It sounds like your vent tube is blocked or kinked. Look at the back of your dryer and you will see that tube coming out. Make sure that it is not kinked. If it is, make it not so. You may have to pull out the dryer to make room. If that is not the case, check the following:
  1. Follow the tube to where it goes outside and make sure it is not blocked. Sometimes critters will build a home in the nice warm tube.
  2. Make sure your lint collect in the door is cleaned out.
One of these suggestions should do it.

Good Luck!
