Acer fell on floor flickering screen & lines across screen

It sounds like the screen broke when it fell. You'd need to get the screen repaired. Your best bet is to have someone else do it for you. Search for computer repair in your area. Sometimes places that repair broken cell phone screens can also repair laptop screens.

Broken screen

To begin your fix, you'll need a few simple tools and a replacement LCD screen. For tools, I recommend a screwdriver with a variety of small bits, such as a Phillips #00 and a Torx T5. It's also a good idea to have a few thin metal blades or plastic spudgers. These are really handy for removing the trim that surrounds the screen.

As for the replacement LCD, you should be able to buy one either from the laptop manufacturer's authorized parts dealer or a third-party supplier. Depending the screen, they usually cost between $50 and $250 dollars-more if it's a high-end display or you buy an OEM replacement. Regardless, you'll want to buy a new screen that matches your broken one exactly. The only sure way to do this is to remove the broken one.

After disconnecting the power supply and removing the battery, carefully examine the bezel around the screen. You'll need to remove this bezel to access the screws that hold the LCD panel in place.

On this laptop, several rubber cushions hide screws, which hold the bezel in place. I'll need to remove these cushions and the screws that are underneath.

With the hidden screws removed, I used a thin metal blade to pop loose one of the bottom corners and worked my way around the bezel with a plastic spudger.

Fell off a desk, Im using it right now but cant see on right third of screen. I can see the crack though.

I believe your monitor is broken. If you provide the make and when you purchased it I can see if it is still under manufacturer warranty.

Please leave feedback for this answer, thanks.

You can either replace the screen or you can work on your laptop with a broken screen. Replacing the laptop screen is quite costly depending on your laptop model and availability of your parts.

Broken Inspiron 1525 Lid

hello

To fix your laptop follow the steps given below.
  • First of all as your hinges are broken you have to buy a pair of hinges for your laptop model.
  • This hinge includes the whole assembly made up of metal with a part which attaches your screen to the laptop.
  • Now you have to open up your laptop from the backside and disassemble the upper side.
  • This will make you see the part which detaches tour screen from the laptop.Just remove the screws and your screen will be completely detached.
  • now you can replace the damaged hinges with the new one.
  • you have to remove four screws for one hinge. Two screws supporting the screen and two attaches the screen with the laptop.
  • so remove these screws and replace the hinges and pack the laptop again.
And the lines are basically due to the movement of loose connector. So while fixing please fix the connector also.

Thank you

Screen problm bcoz of broken

- if an LCD screen is broken, it would show white patches. - Ensure that the display is not in demo mode. (Usually in Demo, one half would be normal, where as the other would be a preview of some custom setting - Check the display controls below the LCD Screen to change them.
Please try these first, then you can go for a replacement, if these don't help

Is my screen broken?

Hello, I am really sorry about what happened to your laptop.
99% of those cases require a replacement of the screen.
I suggest you should visit a technician and check if there is a broken part of the screen where is leaking a liquid. Laptop screens have liquid crystals and probably that liquid is leaking inside.
For sure the laptop screen can be bought seperately and it can be replaced.
