First you need to have a wireless card either installed into your pc or else one that attaches to the outside of your computer like in a usb port. then follow the install wizard for the wireless card. then do the same with your router and your golden. hope that helps

The wireless card in the PC may not be as good as the one in laptop or the signal strength is weaker where the PC is located.
Try moving the D-Link around or in a higher location to improve the signal strength.
The PC may be near a source of interference such as a microwave oven.

do you have the exact model - you can download drivers from the D-Link website http://www.dlink.com/corporate/worldwideoffices/?redirect=/default.aspx choose your country - then put the exact model into the search box - should be able to get the drivers, user manuals etc from there.
NOTE to connect to a router, your PC does NOT need a driver - just for the wireless adapters on the actual PC - I assume this is the D-Link adapter you refer to

try the following separately each time:
1) Turn off the power off the router, turn off the PC, turn on the router, turn on the pc after a minute or two.
If this does not work, Try:
2) Remove the Wireless router Definition on your PC and reinstall it. Make sure that you are using the correct Passwords between the router and the PC.

connect to the routers configuration web page at http://192.168.0.1 from the working pc
at the wireless settings
ensure wireless is turned on, is probably off if not previously used
read the security WEP WPA settings and copy them to the settings page on the ipod

You can purchase a usb wireless dongle and attach to the PC. From then onwards you can set up a wireless network without connecting the usb cable for the router. The dongle will enable wireless capabilities on the pc. The only thing left is to have all devices running in the same workgroup.
