Bought a Maytag MHWE950WW Front Loading Washer, Bearings shot after only 16 months. Is this quailty?

I purchased a Maytag washer, the 9000 Series, model MHWE950WW, in October of 2010. The washing machine seemed to work fine until about 1 month ago, when the washer became loud in the spin cycle. Finally, last week the noise and vibration became intolerable. We called Maytag service, (we have a service contract) and they sent a service man a couple of days ago. He was in the house five minutes, when he spun the tub by hand and stated that the bearings were shot. He said that it would take about ten days before the new parts would be installed. The bearings in a 16 month old machine were SHOT? How can that be? According to the service man, "it happens". Oh Really? It happens if the product is DEFECTIVE AND PORLY MADE. Wait! It gets better. Two days later I received a call from Maytag's service people, and was told that the machine would cost $689.00 to repair with new bearings, and that the prorated value of the machine was $629.00, therefore they were not going to replace the bearings, but would instead reimburse me $629.00 instead, since the value of the machine was now less than the cost to repair it with new bearings. The cost for the washer was $899.00; the cost for the washer's service contract was $186.31, for three years. Maytag is sending me $629.00 for all my troubles, on a machine that is 16 months old. Get this!!! They will not reimburse me for the remaining 3 years on my service contract. They claim that it is part of the claim total. So here is how it breaks down: $899.00 (excluding taxes and delivery) for the washer, $186.31 for the service contract until 2014. That brings my out of pocket total to $1085.31. I am getting back only $629.00. You do the math! I lost $456.32 in the whole process in less than 16 months and do not have a working washing machine to boot. WAY TO GO MAYTAG! You will not see one cent of my money ever again, and I make will it my life's work to bad mouth you and your products, every time I pass by a sellers appliance section. I will tell everyone in my development, in my city, in my state, and anyone who will listen, to avoid your products like the plague that you and they are. Your products, business model and your customer service, are the world’s worst. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice? Well, you will never get that chance again. Personally, I will work toward making your company and its products extinct. It is what you deserve for shoddy products and bad business practices. I wish you nothing, because that is what you deserve. NOTHING!!!!

SOURCE: Blank or White screen on new Motorola Krzr k1 cell phone

the white screen is because the 'flex' is broken. u need to change it. the 'flex' is a part that connects the upper part ( screen) and the lower part (keypad) of the cellphone. the flex is a common problem with flipflop phones. i dont know if u can get it in your country, but we have lots here. it costs around $14-15 including labor.

i was able to solve the white screen problem, but one of the 2 problems w this cell still exists. Whenever i close the flipflop, "memory card removed' appears, and it keeps blinking. Or when i charge my cell, this msg also appears. this also drains my batt. If i reinsert my memory card, it solves the problem, but whenver i charge my cell, it appears again. So its kind of a hassle to always open the back of the cell to reinsert the memory card, so what i do is , i never close the flipflop. Anyone has the same problem?

SOURCE: jabra vbt185z, light stays on, won't connect to phone

My head set had another pin code other than 0000 when I recieved the unit which made it dificult to connect. I learned how to reset it to the default pin of 0000 which allowed me to sync it with my phone. After using it for a month or so my phone requested the pin again.I entered 0000 and once again would not accept the pin. I had to retore the default pin again and it works just fine. Here are the instructions. Plug your vbt185z into the wall charger and while connected press down and hold the center blue button untill the light comes on.(about 30 seconds)Unplug the the ear piece and turn the unit on.Now enter pin 0000 and your phone should accept the pin.

Washer maytag front loading 4000 series assembled and runs but iwith two problems.1) residue on inner surface of door window..lint like oily paste ..gasket rubbing on inner drum?? meaning main rubber

The fault seems to be that the main seal is rubbing against and is thus producing the oily residue on the window. Now the fault seems that the drum is rubbing due to POOR ALIGNMENT or poor BEARING settings.
You need to check the PLAY on the drum and if this shakes a bit then the assembly must be reset with correct aligment and the drum must move without rubbing the rubber seals.

Bought a Maytag MHWE950WW Front Loading Washer. Somehow teh door catch/lock is engaged but teh door is open and it will not close shut and teh control panel will not activate. Please help.

Hi from a retired Englishman in SW France,
Sounds as if the whole catch is broken or at the very least misaligned. If this is the first time you are trying to use it contact the vendor rapidly!! If this is not the first time still contact the vendor! If it was a private sale see if you can at least get the person to share a service call cost which I am guessing is what will be required ;-0(
If this has assisted and/or clarified the situation for you please consider a 4 thumbs up on our rating.
Thanks and good luck!

My 6 year old Frigidaire front load washer makes a lound banging noise during final spin. I have read a bunch of stuff on the net about it being really expensive to fix. I never noticed that the drum...

A typical failure with your machine is that the rear tub seal may seep water into the bearings. Once moisture enters the bearings, they will quickly fail and cause the type of symptoms you mention. I would suggest purchasing a new machine as the repair cost can't be justified. Whirlpool / Maytag machines are very good and, at least relating to top loading, they are all made in USA. If you want a front loading machine made in USA, I would highly recommend the WFW94HEX model- Consumer Reports #1 rated.

Good luck.

Dear sir, We want to buy 02 nos of whirlpool make 8.5 kg washer 02 nos and one nos of dryer. We need the same for our factry on contineous operation so we want the best...

Hi and welcome to FixYa, I am Kelly.

I understand you want a whirlpool washer. What are you washing? It does make a difference on what would be recommended. The other question is does it have to be a front load machine or is a top loading washer ok?

Right off the top of my head for an 8.5 kg washer I would recommend the top loading MAT Series by Maytag (owned by Whirpool) These manual timer machines can take a beating and over loading only causes belt wear that is inexpensive and easy to replace. The only drawback is that the top loading machines use more water per cycle than a front loading machine. My thought is this... water is cheap... smaller front loading commercial machines used in continuous manner end up costing you more in repairs than you would pay for the water.

Product info: http://www.maytagcommerciallaundry.com/on_premiseslaundry/top_load_washers/commercial_energy_advantage__8482__top_load_washer_mat15mnaww.pro?scr=category

Once you see the linked pages select "on premises lanudry"

What I will tell you about commercial laundry machines is this. Keep the controls simple such as the MAT series. Maintenance parts are available on line and your down time will be minimal. The Maytags have the best warranty also.

As for the dryer Gas or electric? I am going to assume electric since you said "Factory"
For this I would recommend the MDE17 series Dryers, The dryers are 4 roller drum type dryers so the weight is carried equally front and rear of the drum so that the drum seals have a very long life.

I have been a Maytag repairman since 1970 and started in a family owned business. These recommendations are from years of experience. You may pay more up front on the initial purchase but over the years the continued in service time and minimal maintenance required make these units extremely cost effective. If I were to start my own business with 8.5 Kg per cycle washing requirements The MAT Washers and MDE Dryers Maytags are exactly what I would use.

Remember Maytag was purchased by Whirlpool years ago.
All Maytag parts can be obtained through Whirlpool.
I do wish you the best, Thanks for choosing FixYa,
Kelly

Bosch Vision 800 Series front loading washer. Flashing "water level is too high". We are not getting any water into machine at all. Is there a way to reset?

We had this same problem last night, although we had just purchased this washer 'new' (bought it at Sears, display model, and it's 9 months old but had not been used). We didn't even get the correct user's manual with it, but after running one cycle without laundry the message went away.

The belt keeps coming off my maytag washer mo. mah55flbww. tub bearing seem good motor seems ok

That is a tough one, especially since you indicate that the bearings are okay. The belt not wanting to stay on a Maytag Neptune washer usually does not bode well. It is usually an indication that the drum bearings are shot. Look for brown splatter on the back of the drum and the inside bottom of the washer. The presence of any brown discoloration is a pretty good indicator that the bearings are going. Anyway, hope this helped, sorry for your problem, and best wishes.

Front loading Maytag Neptune doesnt drain all water

the washer has a low level of water in it at all times. it will never completely drain out unless you pump it. this is one of the reasons there is such a smell with these washers, i use vinegar in rinse cycle and i use bleach once sometimes twice a month to keep mold and mildew smell away.

Maytag washer repair

I had the repair guys out 3 months ago maytag paid for labor I paid $150 for seal and bearings, tub froze and belt broke. the tub now is making the loud screams that others complain about I contacted maytag and reapir servce and talked with the tech. this machine is a piece of S$%^ the seal fails on a regular basis and bearings get water in them. I just missed my 3 month waranty and will not pay for that repair again. people at home depot agree that this machine is trouble. the machine must be taken completely down from the top to replace the bearings and or the belt. the tub must be removed. If you call maytag they will pay for the labor but not the parts.
