They are always a little tricky - your best tool is a powerful magnifying glass! Normally they attach to a X section plastic device. You wiggle the key into one side of the X and then push down to engage the other. There are many styles and designs so the magnifying glass is your first option

You need professional help or no fumbling fingers. Buy new keys from ebay and then install them carefully.

One of the keys fell off my laptop, ow can I get it back on it's the f1

unfortunately the clips that hold a laptop key down are very small and delicate, and very easy to break.. if it has simply popped off.. it will take a little inginuity to get it back on, but it isnt impossible.. usually they have 2 arms with little pop on clips that are very small.. you can get it back on if you have very steady hands and a very small pair of tweezers, but if it has broken the clips.. theres not much hope for it im afraid, you might be up for a new keyboard.. which can be ordered through the manafacturer, but depending on which manafacturer also determines the price..

Hello, How are you?, Well, the problem with my keyboard is; when i press some keys like, the "R" and "Y" or "U", they don't work. and i have to use a external USB keyboard.

I fixed a friends laptop recently different brand than your but exactly the same keys she had to bash them to make them work. My first thought was needed new keyboard. Was running vista messed up a lot so i decided a format and put win7 on and is now working perfect. I know this isnt a great answer but strange its the keys on a totally different brand laptop? Hope you get it sorted could you get back to me when you do and let me know? Im so curious now ....Hey possibly just uninstall the keyboard drivers in device manager reboot and see what happens when the pc reinstalls them? Cheers from Scott

How to refix key of hp 530

you may try to put it back again by try it but it seems not work since you post uyour question here.

here is some risk.
Download the product manual from the hp support site.
read the instruction how to remove your laptops keyboard, after remove fix it, and reinstall it again.

but it pretty risky because i suggest you may want to do it with people who had experience with it.
but my first time i do it myself there was no problem at all. just follow the manual instruction.

KEY FELL OFF

If you have all the components of the Key, it is eazy to reinstall it.

If you miss any minute component, it is not that easy to replace the popped key.

You can find some instructions about replacing dropped keys of Notebooks from the links below :

http://www.laptoprepair101.com/laptop/2007/03/20/key-fell-off-keyboard/

and

If you donot have the required parts of the key to refix it, I recommend you to contact any nearest Service Center and get the required parts or get the key fixed.

Hope this helps...

Gateway notebook key fell off keyboard

Unfortunately, there is no instruction out there for this. My advice is to take one of the other key off in order to see how it fits, then put the key back on the same as the other. I suggest a key right next to the one that is off. Be very gentle and try to remove only the key, leaving the retainer.
