Question about Pioneer VSX-D510 Receiver
On the remote controller, press and hold "remote setup" and 0 simultaneously for about 5 seconds. When it's successful the remote display will blink 3 times.

a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.

Hi Pual -
You can get a copy of the VSX-47TX manual here for free. Your remote has a built in microphone, so as long as you have that, you should be all set.
Page 10 begins the Set Up, it details connections for speakers, inputs, etc. and should be followed. Next, page 13 details the "Auto Surround Set Up". It is comprehensive and since it is free, there's no reason to paste it here when you can freely download it via the link I provided.
I hope this helps and good luck! Please rate my reply. Thank you.

I recommend you use an optical connection. Your VSX-D510 has only one optical input, but I believe it is assignable. Use a good optical cable and connect directly to your DVR. Follow the manual to assign the input and it should work.

Rear Surrounds are not supported on this unit, they would be the 6th and 7th channels in a 7.1 rig. I think you mean Surrounds (channels 4 and 5 in a 5.1 rig).
Lets ponder: How is there any relationship between Surrounds and your separately-amplified Subwoofer? I don't see it, unless you inadvertently chose OFF for the Sub definition when you were in the Speaker selection menus adding the Surrounds. Look again.
