Only connect audio...you do not have a video option available with this unit but the optimal connection is always audio only between TV-receiver.

Connect any RCA cable jack of your choice from the audio out connection on the TV it may be labeled as "variable audio out" or simply "audio out" into the audio left and right channels of the TV section of your receiver. Be sure the channel connections between the receiver and TV match up and power it all on, connecting is finished.

The model # is: L42FHD37. I need to know how to set up an amplified indoor HDTV antenna. RCA multi directional serial # ANT1450BFW.

Attach the antenna to the antenna/TV input on the back of the TV. If you have a flat twin lead wire on your antenna, you'll need a co-ax converter. (Best buy, etc.) Power on the TV (and the amplified antenna) and use the Input button on the remote to select the TV input. Next use the menu button to select channels and then engage the auto-search option to memorize all of the available channels in your area.

I have a new Samsung 47 in LCD and Kenwood DVD purchased in 2005. I am trying to hook both up to get surround sound from my Kenwood VR-606. My signal is coming from a HD cable box. I'm using HDMI from the...

Without additional equipment it can't be done. As i see your VR-606 pure analog device, and you trying to somehow use 5.1 sound from HD STB that is on HDMI put on RCA connectors of your VR-606. It is impossible without converter from HDMI to Analog audio or something likethis, best way to buy new receiver with HDMI input and TV neither Receiver with HDMI out oportunity. Then you will have your home cinema. In your current setup probably you can play only with stereo from your stb.

Old receiver won't work with new HD TV

This looks like a great receiver for its day. I think you can keep it in service until you get into SACD, DTS or some of the other nearly obsolete but awesome audio formats that exist.

Most people use modern AC receivers to also manage video switching between multiple digital video/audio sources such as HDTV and Blu-Ray. Personally, I run mine with the videos going straight to different inputs on my TV and the audios going into different inputs on my receiver. Yes, I have to switch two things whenever I switch video sources. Life could be MUCH worse!

In actuality, there is little real need to have the TV attached to the receiver for much more than a basic video output, which this unit has, so you can observe its On Screen Displays, mostly for setup.

To address your unit and modern TV's... your limitation appears to be that it does not have an HDMI port or two for those possible hi-end AV inputs that you have not mentioned owning. If you do have them you'll actually have to do like I do and think a moment when changing video sources. The horror! As I said above, I would not consider that a show-stopper. The three digital audio inputs (two coaxial and one optical) might be plenty and of the right types for your equipment mix, but there are no 5.1 analog ins or outs for the real high-end audio formats, but you may never want nor encounter them. You can probably live without 5.1 analog.

Without knowing more about the TV in question it's hard to answer what the Best Buy guy told you. If the TV has a standard S-video or composite video input this receiver will work with it for basic video and your other HD/DVD sources can fight for whatever inputs the TV has available.

Best Buy would probably like to sell you a new receiver but I think you'll keep this one online for awhile.

My 47" LG has an internal HD reciever but it isn't picking up any HD channels.

Is it connected to an antenna? Did you do a channel scan for digital channels? See www.dtvanswers.com or http://dtv.gov/iguide.htm for more information.

Hookup wrong? I can't get the menu to come up for the VR375

New HD tv. Have digital cable box connected to tv., cable box connected to DVD recorder, but can't get setup menu to come up on tv screen. I had a similar problem. I have a HD tv connected to a digital cable box. I hooked up the DVD recorder with the wires it came with, but it would not play or give me the menu. However it was correctly hooked up. So the next day I connected a HDMI wire from the DVD recorder to the tv and everything works now.

No Non-Hd sound

Best Buy owns some of the brands it sells. Best Buy currently has five private labels which include Insignia, Dynex, Init, Geek Squad, and Rocketfish. Insignia focuses on electronic equipment, including televisions, monitors, car stereos, home theater systems, and portable video and audio players.

The Best Buy televisions are made with substandard components. They are not produced with the same standard the orginal manufacture items.

With the factor of substandard pieces and flash/firmware glitches; it sound like you have a software problem.

I would contact the manufacture ASAP and have a field tech come by to update your television.
