Are those unedited pictures taken by that camera?

  • I appreciate the response but I have tried several SD cards to no avail...have formatted and re formatted, have several card readers, and tried them...the only pics that can be transferred are the ones taken by the camera...I have another card coming recommeded by Olympus, called Extreme SDHC CLASS 10, will give it a try when I get it...I don" have this type of problem with other gear that I transfer pics from pc to other units...thanks for any suggestions...John,usn,ret

  • i tried several SD cards, tried to put pics on the cards with a reader etc, pics are on the SD cards, but when put in the camers it shows no pictures....called Olympus and they said the pics have to be taken by the camera...

  • All pics were taken from my computer, unedited, and from other SD and Micro cards, all un edited, I mentioned that I called Olympus, and they could not give me an answer...thanks to all concerned..John,usn,ret

  • The pics were not taken by this camera, and it should not matter where they were taken, if they are on any card they should show up, its common sense if the pics were taken by this camera they would definately be there, I want to get pics off my computer, put them on a card and be able to see them on the camera, and like I said the Olympus tech said at this time this can not be done, ....thanks...

  • I appreciate you trying to help, I will work something out in the future, right now its not that much of a deal, I have three olympus cameras, and use the cards from them...thanks for your help...John, u.s. navy retired

Many cameras will only display pictures taken by that camera (or at least the same model). Also, if a picture has been edited in any way (opening a pic in a photo editor and saving it without making any changes counts as editing) then the camera will not display it.

Let me ask again: Are those unedited pictures taken by that camera? If not, then the camera will not show them.

  • kakima Feb 24, 2012

For the third time: Were those pictures TAKEN BY THAT CAMERA?

  • kakima Feb 24, 2012

If those pics were not taken by that camera, then the camera will not show them. Period.
If those pics were taken by that camera and have not been edited, then they must be placed into an appropriate folder inside the DCIM folder.

  • kakima Feb 25, 2012

FYI, it does matter where those pics were taken. If they were not taken by the camera trying to show them, then there're no guarantees about resolution or aspect ratio. Thus to be safe (and overly conservative, IMHO) the camera chooses the easy path and refuses to show them rather than risk a crash. The same applies if the pic has been edited.
I also use multiple cameras, and I agree it's a bit of a pain that I can't see pics from one on another. But I use cameras to take pictures, not to showcase them. And I don't consider memory cards a good long-term storage medium; they're simply a way to get the pics onto my computer for further use.

SOURCE: My olympus 8010 will not

Remove your card and place it in the carrd reader of your PC. Now try to format and clean off the files. If it is not detected clean contacts and try if not the card can be defective.

SOURCE: Olympus Stylus 7030 Digital Camera: we rotated

Afraid not. Many cameras will not display edited images, and rotating counts as an edit. If you still have the original picture (before the first rotation) then you can copy that to the card. Otherwise you'll only be able to view the picture on a computer (or other output device, like a picture frame) and/or print it.

When trying to take a picture or record a movie, the screen is a solid light pink.

try an sd card from another source. the format function of the camera should be used to prepare the sd card for the camera before you take pics with it. this may be a format issue with nintendo. format will erase all images on card, so save them first somewhere else.

My utough 8010 wont let me format any sdhc cards -

try to download the photos on your computer from the card then try to format the card then put it back into your computer. then send your photos that are in your camera internal and send it to your card then download the pics on computer from card then try to put the card back in your camera. if the error still comes back you may have to use a smaller card with less like if you have a 4 g card try using a 2g .

Write format on the sd card

Check whether or not you accidentally moved the write protect slider on the edge of the SD card to the "locked" position. If it is, then slide it out of that position.

My computer doesn't recognize my olympus stylus 8010. Will a card reader alone solve this problem, or do I also need a memory card for the camera? Can I change the setup on the camera so the computer...

In order to use a card reader, you must have a card to insert into it. If you've been using the camera without a card, you've been saving the pictures to the camera's internal memory. In order to get at those, you need to copy them to a memory card first. Your owner's manual will explain the procedure. typrice_168.jpg

How do i get pictures off internal memory onto a computer or sd card

Hi, I have the similar s8000fd and I transfer pics from internal memory by taking out the sd card then connect to a spare usb socket on computer, then switch camera on. To transfer pics from internal memory to sd card - leave sd card in, switch on camera (playback mode), press menu, select copy, select 'internal memory to sd card', 'select frame' or 'all frames'. It should say 'copy ok?' Press OK.

Transfering pics from camera built in memory to SD memory stick.

Go to the playback menu, scroll down to the option <copy>. It might be in the Setup menu, but I do believe it's in the playback, copy, OR playback, Setup, copy. have card in camera.

Are you using the SD card that came with it? or you purchased it separately? It's possible that the SD card is not being detected. maybe that is why it is saving it in the builtin memory instead of the card. did you try a different SD card? please try another card.
