Question about HP DeskJet F380 All-In-One Printer

1 Answer

My printer wont print on photo paper.

My printer won't print on photo paper at all. It just pulls the paper and sticks right at the beginnning. Then the red light starts to blink and I'll have to pull the photo paper out by hand.

But the thing is that I have printed on photo paper before on this printer but for some reason it isn't working this time. I recently uninstalled and re-installed the printer the 1st time it got stuck, but I doubt that has anything to do with it since all the settings look the same.

Yea, everything else is working just fine. It just has a problem with the glossy side of the Kodak paper but I think I'll take your advice and have it cleaned and stuff and I'll get back to you.

Is it worked in past? Have you contact the HP for this problem? Since most of All-in-one printer do not possess better print facility, so it is difficult to use this one for photo print..
Photo paper is thick and may be motor not taking complete load of it. Check out with the roller moving firmly.

If you have installed it now and then problem arised, have you try with other printing process running properly.. Since it is all in one, if the Copying and Faxing works.. then no problem in its setup.

May be it need service, if you can do its cleaning internally and of Toner then go for it, let me know the status.

Ok, slippery glossy paper being not rolling over the roller, yeah, sometimes it happens, dust on roller, check out the tray also keeping it wide open for the photo paper go in easily, otherwise handle yourself paper during print command, and firmly insert in the roller.

I have an epson printer and when I hit print, the paper slides right thru & says paper jam

  • Carefully remove the jammed photo paper. Gently pull the paper up and out of the paper feeder tray.

  • 2

Reload the paper into the tray. Stack the paper on a flat surface and then carefully slide the paper stack straight into the paper feeder tray---along and aligned with the right side of the tray. Secure the stack in place by sliding the left "edge guide" against the paper stack.

Press the "OK" button to resume printing. If you had a "Paper is jammed in the printer..." error message displayed on the control panel LCD, pressing "OK" should also clear the message.

  • 4

Pull the paper from the printer, if the status message reappears and/or the printer doesn't print, and check the paper for folds, buckling and curled edges or corners. Also check the sheets for sticking. If any of your sheets stick or have damage, remove them from your photo paper stack and replace with new sheets. Reload the paper and press "OK" to try again.

My paper jammed, I (of course being inpatient) pulled it out and now the paper wont feed. Please help.

To fix the error 5200 or E2 or paper won't feed

    1. Open the cover printer

    2. The right side of the printer, there is a round plastic. Rotate the plastic or gears, as opposed to clockwise

    3. Rotate the gears, until you hear the a voice from the right side of the printer (voice shifting gears on the right side of printer). Aiming to restore the position of the skid gear.

I hope this information helps. Thanks.

    Photo Paper keeps jamming

It's the top rollers, the paper is too slick to get through them. I'm using HP photo paper, in an HP printer. It needs to do a 180, but gets jammed right where it prints, so the paper never makes it to the ink. It's an engineering problem by HP. I suggest putting a rough surface on the top edge of the photo paper, something removable but rough enough for the printer to pull the photo paper through.

Rollers won't pick up photo paper.

Hi I would suggest you to try once again by putting the shiny side up and print it again, some time even if the pages get stick with each other than also the printer wont take paper in. so try one more time and do reply if you still have the same problem or nay other.

    Naiven.

Epson printer had paper jam which is now clear but the printing head just goes to the left and wont move. the printer and pare lights are lit up.

Some paper is probbally lodged btween head and printer wall, off with the power, can you then pull head to right and seek for paper fragments smashed aginst inside wall? then if all is well may need to run a clean, you should be right...

Paper jammed but no paper is jammed.

Sounds like something has fallen into the paper path. Use a flashlight and small mirror to look down the slot where the paper goes. You may have to use a straightened paper clip or the like to help remove the obstruction.

Stick a 9x12 piece of cardboard down into the tray to force out unseen pieces of paper.

Kodak 5300 wont print on glossy side of photo paper

I just sussed this issue out. On the front of the printer tray there is another pull out tray, this opens up and must activate the photo printing for A4 because it stops the paper falling on the floor once printed (cos once printed on photo paper it may still be wet). As soon as I opened the tray (and it then opens again - you'll see what I mean) it printed A4 photo paper perfectly
    Hope this helps others
