Question about Breville Coffee Makers & Espresso Machines
In the past we have had other issues, the digital light display does not come on. We have to reset the machine (cutting it off and on) then it MAY start working. But now the problem is that the machine will not even come on. We have unplugged it, descaled it and nothing seems to help. In the past we have descaled regularly and changed the filter, all the things that are required to keep up the maintenance on it. The is the second one that we have had, with similar problems. And we have only had this one for 18 months. Please advise us as to the next action that we should take.
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.

SOURCE: Descaling a Miele Coffee maker
Put them in the water chamber then they dissolve and you run they cycle. I would cycle through a second time also with water only to flush the system out.
hope that helps.

The manual states that after you descale, you have to hold down the hot water button for 6 seconds, that will turn it off and "reset the timer" till the next time it needs to descale.
