I am guessing that the lines you are getting are white??? Have you tried to clean the primary charge roller or charge wire's? Also, it depends what kind of copier you have, some have cleaners that come out and clean the wires > one or all of them maybe stuck and blocking the charge. Have you looked in the developing unit... You may have to change the developer.... Good Luck

My 1232C has a problem (obviously). There are "bald spots" on my prints. There are on the bottom of standard printed sheets (towards the back). The areas are simply black. No residual powder,...

We need to figure out some of your terminology here to find out what the issue is. First you said "The areas are simply Black" Did you mean Blank? I am confused as to wether the "bald spots" are black or blank. I would have assumed blank. In any case I just need to know if 1) you have areas where the print is "missing", or 2) areas where you have black spots, or 3) areas where the print "rubs off" or is not "fused" onto the page.
If the print is not fused properly or rubs off then you have a fusing unit problem. This is an assembly located right where the paper exits the machine. This will be somewhere around a $300 to $400 fix.
If you have blank areas or black areas that are not in a straight line across the whole page then the problem is most likely in the photoconductor unit. If the Photoconductor unit is at fault then you are looking at $400 to $500 to repair the machine.
If you can provide further details I will be appy to help.
Thank You for using Fixya.

I have inserted a new black cartridge and now my printing comes out incomplete

Try 'aligning' the cartridges... If you have done that already, do describe the problem in more detail - Are you getting streaked areas?

Copies have black streaks now

Dirt on the narrow glass will cause streaks through the Auto feeder, but copies should be clean if using the main contact glass if that's the case. Dirt/toner anywhere else (ie:laser optics) would cause light areas on the copies- not dark. Did this happen the very first time you used it, or shortly after? In other words, could it be coincidental? It sounds more to me, like the PCU (photoconductor/drum unit) needs replacement, or a fuser roller.
If cleaning the glass doesn't help, then one of these 2 things is causing your problem.

Samsung CLP 510 light grey vertical streaks

you have 2 problem.
1). toner is bad
2). toner is low
change the toner should fix both porblem.
try to clean the roller while you have the toner out. (just in case).

Black line

The problem could be the system and not the printer itself. Try turning it off, unplugging and then replugging and switch on try again. Sometimes this can reset errors. Post back if no go lilacgerry xxx

I think the plastic broke that held the spring, so you need to figure out where it broke and drill a new hole for the spring, and sounds like you need a new cartridge, GOOD LUCK!!!

Streaks / Bands of broken print area

First with a clean soft cloth and a very small amt of alcohol clean off the underside of the printer carridge (the holder for the print heads) also where the print heads cleaning station is clean out any large masses of congealed link. Then remove the ink cartridge in question and with a pencil eraser gently rub the contacts and both the cartridge and the carridge replace the cartridge. Using the software tools for the printer clean and align the printheads ( if there is an option to do so). If this dosn't fix the problem try a different ink cartridge.
