Vr 700 won't power on.

Check the internal fuse. 8 Amp 5mm x 20mm. May difficult to find locally- not carried by R Shack. I just soldered an in-line 3AG fuseholder to the existing circuit board fuseholder, and that works fine. RJD

I have a mitsubishi m vr-700 receiver and I had someone hook up the five speakers up to it last night. It was working fine. This morning I turned it on and no sound. how do I fix this?

I bought a Mitsubishi M-VR700, which produced no audio from the speakers, but with headphones, a tiny bit of audio was detectable with the volume control on max. This solution was posted on FixYa by Mojorisin65 some time ago: Facing the receiver directly behind the MITS logo & power button is a vertical board with a large IC on it, try flexing the board near the IC while turning the reciever on & off or changing input modes, there is a cold solder joint on this board which I haven't found yet. I understand this is a common problem with the MITS M-VR700-900, Onkyo TXDS-575, & Integra DTR5 or DTR5.1 ( all made by Onkyo).
I gently flexed the board as described, and Boom, all the audio was back as it should be. I suspect Mojorisin65 is correct about the cold solder joints, but with SMT components, it could be very difficult to find. I may very well be on one or more of the 48 pins on the large IC. This IC gets rather warm during operation, which may explain why some units may work until it heats up. The chip gets warm and 'twists' enough to lift the bad pin(s) from the circuit board. In an attempt to deal with this symptom, I superglued a TO-220 heat sink to the top of the IC (don't let it touch the case of C-716). The heat sink is dissipating a fair bit of heat, and so far, this 'fix' seems to be doing the trick. RJD 10.18.11

Why wont my turntable work? it works when hooked up to other receivers. i get nothing

Most new receivers don't have an input for PHONO. If yours doesn't you will need a phono preamp between your turntable and your receiver. Cost about $30.

Sounds like a loose connection. What audio source are you using? If you switch sources, does the other source have the same problem?

Suddenly power goes off. will not restart,

If there is no external fuse at the back panel, then there must be an internal fuse. I assume you tried another outlet in your home.

How do I hook up my Mitsubishi M-VR700 to my Samsung TV

I would use the audio outs on the T.V. to one of the audio ins on the receiver "red & white RCA plugs", or if the T.V. has s-video out & the receiver has s-video in use that with the RCA plugs, an even better set up would be to use an HDMI cord. Any way it's OUT from the t.v. to IN on the receiver, no matter which way.

No sound

Hi, I've had this problem with the M-VR400 and apparently I had the Tape2 Monitor button pushed on, and I was trying to listen to Video-1. Well, mentally I said I have nothing connected to Tape2 Monitor so I figured the machine couldn't decide on sound Input properly, so I turned off that button and my Surround Sound came back on just like Magic! :) Hope that helps.
