SOURCE: Email Address Problems
when I setup the SMTP server as an IP adress the e-mails are sent correctly. I looked up manually the IP adress of my SMTP server. This is only a temporary solution. In this case you naturally have to choose the IP adress option in the settings.
However when I setup the SMTP server as a hostname (ex. smtp.telenet.com) and I chose the option Host Name, it does not work.

To scan to email, Administrator email address must be set in the machine (any bogus email address will work too).
Also, email server address must be input as IP address if DNS or WINS is not running in LAN.

The delivery server IP address is pushed to the machine from the scan router software. If it needs to be updated, you will have to remove and readd the I/O device within the scan router administration utility. If you do not use scan router you can set delivery option to off, and it will eliminate the error message.

Hello, I have one of these. The iR3570 has no smtp server - you would need the iR3570i. It may be possible to buy the additional hardware and software to effectively turn your 3570 into a 3570i - but they are getting on a bit and it will not be easy to find. Once the machine is upgraded the smtp option will appear in the menu.
Good luck to you.

I've just discovered that Ricoh's built in software only works if your SMTP server sends out without picking up password or authentication.
Having same issue and it worked fine when it was behind corporate firewall with the same connection settings (IP address) as the SMTP server.
Once I changed web hosting - it won't recognize the SMTP server or any authentication methods. According to IKON (Ricoh support for the USA) - your SMTP server has to have "relay exception"
